Brisbane - Gateway to Queensland and Australia

Brisbane is my home city - with its CityCat, City Lagoon, Cultural Centre and famous Story Bridge. Brisbane City is one hour's drive from the Gold Coast, 45 minutes from Rainforests and is nestled on the banks of the Brisbane River. I live 20 minutes by ferry from the City heart.

My Life in Brisbane

I have lived in Brisbane since 1950. I even remember as a child walking along Coronation Drive by the river to go into the City of Brisbane to see the one Black & White TV in Myer's Department Store window.

I have lived in the Western suburbs (Taringa, Torwood, Ashgrove) and Southern suburbs (Coorparoo & Bulimba). We have lived in Bulimba in the same house since 1983 and have totally renovated it. I am now a member of the Morningsong Community Choir, Bulimba.

My Morning Walk in Bulimba, Brisbane

My morning walk takes me along the Brisbane River, past Bulimba Memorial Park and along Oxford Street, the theater and restaurant center of Bulimba.

The walk with its river views and accompanying sounds of birds, provides a great opportunity to think about my day and plan my activities.

I have even written an article about this which I published under the title, Walk on the Bright Side to Grow Your Internet Business.

I'm sorry that I never made it to Brisbane while I lived in Australia. Such a vast country! I do plan to revisit some day.

There are at least 1160 species of higher plants recorded from the north-eastern Queensland rainforests of Australia, with new species being named every year.

Looks beautiful in Brisbane, I have family in Australia (Wollongong) and Will get over one day...as promised. I have sat in the Airport a couple of times but as I was en-route to New Zealand unfortunately didn't get time to venture. Think I might have to set some New incentives and take a month off work!!!
Nice lens and such a beautiful place to live. Tomorrow I will be taking a leaf out of your book and starting my day with a thoughtful walk. Thank you.

Ron, you know the traveling squid project is in Australia visiting Glen ... I didn't know if you had been included in the project, but it would be cool to have you on board since the squid is so nearby! Bravo to all the wondrous work you have done ... here on Squidoo and elsewhere!

Nice views of Brisbane Ron. Some of the scenes remind me of southern California. Looks like a nice place to live. Cinco stars!
