Britain's Got Talent Winner 2009 - Diversity!

Well folks, I don't know how many of you have been watching Britain's Got Talent but I have been glued to my TV. After a truly amazing final night, jammed packed with talented performers the Britains Got Talent winner - DIVERSITY - was crowned! This lens will bring you through Diversity's journey to their incredible win and well as showing you all their competition with 9 other finalists of Britain's Got Talent 2009.

Diversity are a truly unique street dance troupe who combine excellent technical skills with truly creative choreography! Technically brilliant, entertaining and truly diverse!

Britains Got Talent Winners - Diversity

The winners of Britain's Got Talent 2009 are Diversity! Diversity are a street dance act comprising of three sets of brothers and some friends. They hail from East London and Essex. They range in age from 12-25 and were formed in 2007.

Diversity has won a prize of £100,000 (USD161,000 approx.) and will perform in front of the Queen of England at the Royal Variety Performance.

If you think these guys are just another dance troupe think again. Their choreography is the most creative that I have ever seen. I don't want to give too much away here before you watch the video of their winning performance so I am not going to give you any hints, just watch and see! You have to watch out for the two little guys in this dance act!

The Winning Moment - The Future!

As they were announced winners, Diversity hugged each other and their genius choreographer Ashley Banjo, 20, said: "I was saying 'guys, second!'. When you said our name, honestly I'm going to wake up in a minute." He believed that Susan Boyle was the inevitable winner and that they were really battling it out for second place. They seemed genuinely surprised to have won the competition.

Susan Boyle was incredibly gracious in defeat saying "The best people won" and wished them "all the best".

While those of working age in Diversity have regular day jobs, it is expected that they will now have the opportunity to give up their jobs and dance full time. Promoters are lining up to book this act and I have no doubt that they will be dancing on stage with superstars in the future. Their future is bright and I am glad that there is light shining on this group of young talented men, who have turned their energy and passion into a truly creative force.

Britains Got Talent Final - Susan Boyle

Runner Up!

What can I say about this lady? A surprise to us all at her audition, a star of the future! This lady has a beautiful voice and was thoroughly gracious in defeat. Her performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misarables was breathtaking.

Although she is runner up, nobody can doubt her talent or her popularity. It is envisaged that she will release an album in the near future under Simon Cowell's label SyCo. Some commentators estimate that she will surpass the GBP5 million pounds earnings of previous winner Paul Potts who has had extraordinary success following the show.

Britains Got Talent Final - Julian Smith

Third Place.

Julian Smith is a great saxophonist, a humble man and a very cool dude all rolled into one. He believe that this is his last chance to succeed in life. His performance of Somewhere from West Side Story touched many hearts.

Diversity

daoine says:

I finally got curious about Susan Boyle on Friday afternoon and YouTubed it to see what all the fuss was about. Was disappointed to hear she didn't win, but not surprised when I saw she'd performed the same song over again (voting audiences need to be surprised). But when I went to see what Diversity were all about it was clear that they won hands down. Especially given that they put on something completely different for each performance.

debnet says:

Diversity deserved to win. Personally, I preferred Aidan Davies but I'm glad this group of talented dancers came through to win.

NanLT says:

Diversity consistently gave the best performances all through the competition. The earned that win.

aj2008 says:

Myself and my two daughters voted for Diversity because they are so unique and amazing!

Susan Boyle

CCGAL says:

Sorry to say, I never got to see Diversity, but I was enthralled by Susan Boyle's performance. I'm very late seeing this lens, but here's my 2 cents anyway. *grin*

7 More Finalists

The Britain's Got Talent Final comprised 10 acts in total. We had singers, dancers, musicians, adults and children. We had acts who will without doubt go on to have a future in show business and those whose journey will have ended with this final. However, having watched all the contestants from beginning to end I think it is true to say that this competition has been an unforgettable experience for all concerned!

Shaheen Jafargholi is only twelve years old by my goodness what a voice he has. WOW! Shaheen hales from Wales and Piers Morgan reckons that he will be more successful than fellow Welsh man Tom Jones!

Britains Got Talent Final - Aidan Davis

Aidan Davis is just twelve years old but he is, to quote Simon Cowell "super, super, super, talented!" He is a dancer with no formal training, who has always practiced at home in his bedroom. Their are so many trained artists that are not as impressive as this young dancer.

With all the publicity, I was surprised that Susan Boyle didn't win. Haven't seen Diversity's latest routine yet, but their semi-final one was excellent. Very nice lens!

Woo Hoo! You were fast off the mark with this one ;) Well done! I loved so many of those acts, apart from Susan Boyle and Two Grand, and am so pleased Diversity won! Great lens :)
