About British Aircraft

A lensography of British Aviation lenses, which cover aircraft from the Second World War to the Modern day, from the Short Stirling to Concorde SST.

As well as classics like the Supermarine Spitfire, I have tried to include the lesser known aircraft like the Bristol Blenheim, Avro Shackleton and Sea Vixen. This list is by no means complete - if you find one, I've missed let me know!

Empire of the Clouds

The height of British Aviation

Empire of the Clouds:
When Britain's Aircraft Ruled the World
From Amazon.co.uk

A history of Britain's aircraft, in the boom years following the Second World War. In the nineteen forties and fifties, Britain's aircraft industry (civil and military) was at the forefront of aviation development. Short-sightedness and, it must be said, government puirchasing decisions and politics, lead to this advantage being squandered.

The aircraft of this period, Vulcan, TSR2 and others, were unique.
