American Idol's Brooke White

Brooke has a beautiful voice, but for some reason this song just didn't work. It wasn't that it was bad, it just wasn't anything that one would want to listen to many times a day.

She was last that night which is a lot better than being first. I wonder if part of the reason that she ended in the bottom three was due to her fans not waiting around until the end and not calling?

And once again she made the cut and wasn't in the bottom three.

Brooke sang first this week, which is always one of the hardest spots. It sets the pace for the show.

For Dolly Parton week she picked Jolene. One of the things that Brooke does is to perform with an instrument, either a guitar or piano. At time it seems to distract from her voice and this was one of those weeks. With the band on stage with her and with her playing the guitar, it's no wonder that she was one of the bottom three.

She needs to stand out in front and sing the song.

Even though it was a disappointment to see her in the bottom third. let's hope that this will be her last time in the bottom three until there are three left.

For the song from her birth year Brooke choice was Every Breath You Take. She was sitting at the piano and when she missed the note, you would have thought it would be a disaster. But she paused for a moment then began the song again.

While it wasn't her best performance it was as good as any other that night. One that easily moved her along.

This has no doubt been Brooke's worst performance. She picked the wrong song and wore the wrong dress. But even with this, she showed that with work she could sing just about any song, since even her bad effort at this song was much better than many of the others of the night.

She does survive for another week, with hopefully she selects a perfect song from her birth year of 1983 for next week.

Songs of Lennon-McCartney were the basis of the song selection this week and Brooke choice was Let It Be. She sang the song while playing piano and it was good. It wasn't the best performance of the night, nor one of her better performance.
