- "In the early 1980's, Carol Cymbala decided to "make a little tape for the church," and when she had trouble finding enough appropriate songs, she began writing them. Although she cannot read or write music, the Lord has given her a special gift to direct and create from the heart through the power of the Holy Spirit. After 25 years of recording and live performances, the Lord continues to use the Choir to carry the message of the Gospel around the world."

- 1999 article by Carol Allen about the Choir
- It takes more than talent to be one of the 240 vocalists in The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. It takes commitment. A commitment to musical excellence. A commitment to rehearse for up to five hours every Friday night of the year. A commitment to sing during two church services every Sunday. A commitment to pay for there own travel expenses whenever the choir performs on the road. And most of all, a commitment to ministry. "This is about Christ and the gospel," says choir director, Carol Cymbala. "Lives aren't changed because we've performed well. It's because of God's spirit and people hearing the truth of the gospel."

- Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is one of my favorite choral groups. Although I was taught the virtues of "plainsong" while in college, the freedom and virtuosity of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir never fails to make me say, "Wow!" These folks are wonderful. (It's just too far to travel to hear them each Sunday morning from my home near Dallas.)
