Brown Sugar Pumpkin Pie

My Aunt Madaline saved a lot of recipes. This Brown Sugar Pumpkin Pie was one she saved with a collection of Thanksgiving recipes.

This vintage recipe was originally published in the Courier-Journal Magazine on November 12, 1950.

This is a special pumpkin pie recipe that I think stands apart from the rest!

Pumpkin pie is my favorite pie and I do make it for myself year around. I prefer fresh pumpkin, but will use canned if need be. However, I do not make my own crust anymore, as it is just so much easier to buy ready-made pie crust.

I could have used this recipe when we were in Australia with no American cookbook on hand. Had to guess at the recipe and carve up a huge Austrailian pumpkin and cook it from scratch.

Pumpkin Pie is one of my favorites. I will be trying out this recipe very soon. I have never made it with fresh pumpkin, but I think I can do it now. Great lens! Thanks
