Bruce Goff's work is delightfully different
Bruce Goff designed some gorgeous modern homes, with sleek lines. He also designed some homes that look like something out of a fantasy landscape. He loved to incorporate unconventional building materials, such as chunks of slag glass. Bruce Goff's education
Bruce Goff started working for an architectural firm when he was 12 years old. He began experimenting with designing houses soon after. He never received a formal education in architecture, and Frank Lloyd Wright recommended he not do so, believing that his creativity would be squashed there. Wright wrote a letter to Goff which comments, "If you want to lose Bruce Goff, go to school."
Goff was a painter, and also a musician. He received inspiration for his architecture in music, composing a building as if it were music in three dimensions.
