Bryan Adams - Successful Canadian Singer
At the age of 18, in 1978, Adams sent few demo tapes to A&M Recordings and ended up signing with them for a sum of one dollar. In 1980, he released a self-titled album and it became gold in Canada in 1986. Adams' second album, You Want It, You Got It, was released in 1981. Gone on to be one of the most successful and recognizable Canadians in the American film industry, Adams first found stateside popularity in 1983 with the release of his album Cuts Like a Knife. However, it was only with this release that Adams attained success with four hits. Adams' popularity continued throughout the 80s but it wasn't until 1991, when Adams wrote Everything I Do, for Kevin Costner's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves that he met with record-breaking success.
Following this success, Adams continued to write songs for movies, including All For Love for The Three Muskateers (1993), Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman for 1995's Don Juan DeMarco (for which he garnered Oscar and Golden Globe nominations as well as his fourth #1 hit), and I Finally Found Someone for Barbra Streisand's The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996), for which he received his third Oscar nomination as well as a Top 10 hit.
Adams has been called the most successful Canadian singer ever, an honor that he undoubtedly owes in part to the movies. Out of all of his number one hits, only one, Please Forgive Me, was not written for a film.

Bryan Adams, OC, OBC (born Bryan Guy Adams on November 5, 1959) is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, and photographer.
Adams has won dozens of awards and nominations, including 18 Juno Awards among 56 nominations, including wins for Best Male Artist in 2000 and Male Vocalist of the Year in 1997 and every year from 1983 to 1987, as well as Junos for Producer, Composer, and Songwriter of the Year. He has also had 15 Grammy Award nominations including a win for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television for "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" in 1992. He has also won MTV, ASCAP, and American Music awards. In addition, he has won two Ivor Novello Awards and has been nominated for several Golden Globe Awards and Academy Awards for songwriting.
Adams was awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia for contributions to popular music and philanthropic work via his own foundation, which helps improve education for people around the world.
Adams was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 1998, and in April 2006 he was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at Canada's Juno Awards.
