American Association of University Women (AAUW) Doylestown Branch has a long tradition of attempting to solve educational issues for women and girls. For example, in the early 1970s it was a group of Doylestown Branch members who founded Aid for Girls, the organization that later became Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Bucks County.

The Bucks County Audubon Society (BCAS) at Honey Hollow is a private, nonprofit organization founded as a chapter of the National Audubon Society in 1969. Since its inception, BCAS has been dedicated to conserving wildlife, promoting awareness of environmental problems, watching birds, educating the community about the interdependence of humans and their world, and furthering the wise use of land, air, and water. Bucks County Intermediate Unit Education Foundation

Doylestown, PA

The Bucks County Schools Intermediate Unit Education Foundation is an independent, private, nonprofit, charitable organization created to support educational opportunities for the benefit of students in Bucks County. The foundation works with teachers, administrators, school directors and parents to ensure that the children of Bucks County receive the best possible education. It is a vehicle that connects education to the community, and is expected to become the center for diverse groups that already support education with human and financial resources. The Foundation will broaden the base that provides financial and other assistance to Intermediate Unit staff and programs, and to the many special students in these programs.

The Foundation funds programs that support creative and innovative classroom ideas for Intermediate Unit teachers. The Board of Directors provides grants/gifts to individual departments, individual teachers, administrators or to teacher teams. The Foundation encourages teachers and students to reach beyond themselves by offering them competitive grants for new and appealing classroom projects or innovative extra-curricular programs. It helps keep teachers renewed and in the vanguard in both their teaching skills and subject matter. It helps provide state-of-the-art technology for students to learn on the best possible equipment. It helps fund internships and partnerships in cooperation with school-to-work and other programs to give students and teachers work experience in the business world.

Bucks County Library Association

The Bucks County Library Association (BCLA) is a long-standing nonprofit organization formed to promote conversation and cooperative efforts among the libraries in Bucks County.

In addition to professional learning opportunities and networking, BCLA also organizes the Bucks for Books Scholarship program, meant to support a high school senior who plans to become a librarian or educator who understands the importance of libraries, shows leadership skills, and is an active member of their community.
