They help clients prepare for and manage their vision loss by creating individualized service plans that facilitate goal achievement. In partnership with their clients, their professional staff identifies the right combination of services, vision evaluations, assistive technology, education, resources, and support needed for personal success.

They educate our community and raise public awareness by conducting free vision screenings for adults and preschool children that reinforce the need for regular professional eye examinations. They offer presentations that address symptoms and treatments for eye diseases and causes, implications, and prevention of vision loss; and teach best practices to support people with visual impairments.

Bucks County Compeer

Compeer promotes maximum recovery by persons receiving mental health services through matching them up in one-to-one friendship relationships with caring, trained, adult volunteers. Through volunteer recruitment, Compeer also educates the public about mental illness, striving to eliminate stigma and increase understanding.

Bucks County Compeer is one of the 70 affiliates of the International Affiliation of Compeer Programs (IACP), based in Rochester, NY and is a member of the 13 member Pennsylvania Compeer Coalition. Bucks County Compeer adheres to program quality standards and best practices of IACP.

This is a project of the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania (MHASP) which is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency and is supported by the Bucks County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Administration (MH/MR).
