Bangkok's Best Budget Hotels - Where to Stay

So what is exactly considered "Budget" for a hotel accommodation in Bangkok Thailand? How about a flat screen TV CD/DVD player in your room? Or free daily breakfast? A nice little pool? A fitness center? As a guest in most budget hotels in Bangkok these are such amenities available for travelers to enjoy.

The prices for the hotels I reviewed and recommend here range from 1000THB to 1300THB. The hotels are linked to several reliable hotel reservation agencies based in Thailand so you will get the best room rates from those agencies.

If you are planning to visit the exotic city of Bangkok in the Kingdom of Thailand on a budget then I've got some great news for you. Bangkok has a huge variety of hotel rates catering to every pocket book. Staying in budget hotels is a great idea especially when you can use the money you save for spending on that special souvenir or a traditional Thai massage.

Most budget travelers seeking accommodations in Bangkok will be surprised to see that the word budget in Bangkok is synonymous with value. Due to the huge advantage between your country's currency and the Thai Baht, you will find that the price that you pay for a two star hotel in a western hotel you can be staying in a 3 to 4 star hotel in Bangkok.

Your comfort level of course, should also be the deciding factor on how "Budget" you want to go. If you don't mind smaller rooms, firmer beds and the distance from the main hub activities of Bangkok then a budget hotel is suitable for you. And even then you will find plenty of accommodations listed here that are right in the heart of Bangkok.

Budget hotels in Bangkok have varying categories and comfort quality. My biggest concern is cleanliness. A clean mattress and pillows is what's important to me as it is to you. A little bit of mildew in the shower is expected in most budget hotels but nothing to really cry home about.

My hotel recommendations here are all carefully planned and thought out to make your discovery of Bangkok easy and stress free. After all there are so many sights to see. The city is fascinating and beckons you to explore every nook and cranny. If you're a food lover then you're going to have a great culinary experience.

If you threw a rock in any direction on the streets of Bangkok there's a good chance you'll hit a taxi. Taxis in Bangkok are cheap and plenty, especially when you're traveling with 4 people. The initial rate starts at 35THB or $1USD and it includes 2km, then each additional km is a measly 5THB. Note: The red neon light by the windshield indicates the taxi is available for hire. Taxis are hardest to hire when it rains in Bangkok so be prepared to wait. Before you get into a taxi outside of your hotel here are a few things to remember:

  1. Have someone from the hotel write down your destination in Thai
  2. It's also a good idea to keep your hotel's business card with you at all times
  3. Don't get into a taxi parked outside of the hotel with drivers trying to get your attention. Matter of fact it's a good idea to avoid anyone who initiates a conversation with you.Though harmless, their agenda is to tempt you to go shopping for overpriced goods where they earn commissions.

My recommendation is that wherever you choose to stay it is best to take a taxi to the nearest Bangkok MRT or BTS station. Bangkok's MRT stands for Mass Rapid Transit, a modern 18 station underground train system that stretches 20km from Hua Lumphong (near the old district and Chinatown, where I recommend some of the budget hotels) through commercial tourist areas and ends at Bang Sue up north.

Bangkok's BTS or Bangkok Transit System is a two line elevated train network covering the major commercial areas. As you can see on the map below the first line is Sukhumivit and the second line is Silom with a connection at the National Stadium station. BTS also provides free shuttle buses to transport passengers to and from nearby stations, though it's rarely used by tourists.

For the adventurous at heart or just the truly curious and brave you can try travel around on a Tuk Tuk. Tuk Tuk's get their name from the sound they make when the driver revs the motor and speeds up. You can usually see them cutting and weaving through traffic without fear. But I don't recommend staying in one too long. Since the buses in Bangkok still use diesel fuel mixed with the exhaust fumes from Tuk Tuk's the air quality around you is horrible and most likely bad for you health. Tuk Tuk drivers charge a flat rate to where ever your destination maybe. A little bit of negotiation will certainly be required.

Information on Bangkok's MRT/BTS train systems

There are 3 convenient transfer points between the MRT and BTS

Bangkok MRT/BTS Map

Bangkok's MRT and BTS are very affordable and I highly recommend you get around with them whenever you can, even you if can take a taxi to a station. Bangkok's streets is notorius for traffic jams where you'll literally cars, trucks and buses are at a total stand still.

Most of the stations are adjacent to tourist attractions which is why it's the best way to get around. Both the MRT and BTS open operate from 6am to 12am. Quick, clean, affordable, effecient and the signs and maps are in English. But most importantly it is well air conditioned. This is the best way to get around so take advantage of it.

Currently there is a shuttle train being built from the airport with connections to the BTS. This will certainly cut down some travel cost as well as speed up your trip to the center of Bangkok.

Recommended Budget Hotels in Bangkok

You can find more information about these hotels below

I carefully chose these hotels based on what travelers want and need to know before they decide on which hotel to book. Whenever I choose a budget hotel I look for cleanliness as well as a great location. After all what use is a hotel if you are in the middle of nowhere. Hotel service is a relative term and personally I don't like to be pampered by hotel employees. But I think you're going to be quite surprised on how much amenities and great service you'll be receiving by staying in most of the places recommended here.

However, since taxi drivers are not aware of smaller named hotels they may have difficulties in finding your hotel. So make sure you have the hotel's phone number handy so the driver can make a call. I've never met a taxi driver without a cell phone in Bangkok.

Also many budget hotels are locally run and managed. So staff working there may have limited English skills or any other foreign language. So be prepared to be a bit patient whenever you are trying to communicate your needs and concerns.

The next thing I look for is ease of access to main attractions. Which is why all the hotels I recommend are near Bangkok's MRT or BTS station. Some are even in walking distance to popular local sights. These trains will get you to your destinations efficiently and on the cheap to shopping, main attractions and nightlife hot spots throughout this great city of Bangkok.

Please Leave a Review of Your Stay, We Would Appreciate it!

Others will thank you too!

I have already linked the hotels to a few popular hotel reservation websites, where you can find current rates, a map of where the hotels are located and current guest reviews from people who have actually stayed there. But before you book here's a few things you should know:

  • Hotels in Bangkok charge cheaper room rates from March through November, the low season.

  • It's possible to find cheaper hotels in Bangkok. However most of those hotels may not have a website to book a room. I suggest booking a hotel from the list here for a few days. Then you will have a place to stay while you go on a search for a hotel that is right for your budget and comfort.

  • Most of the hotels listed here include breakfast in the room rates. You can easily see which hotels include breakfast by visiting our hotel reservation partners.

  • We rely on hotel guest reviews just like you do. After you have booked a hotel through our hotel reservation partners, you will receive an email requesting a review about your stay, approximately 1 week before your departure. Please write a review so it can help future travelers make a better decision on where to stay in Bangkok.

Bhiman Inn Bangkok Review

Rates starting at 1000THB per night

Bhiman Inn is a very cozy hotel located by the Chao Phraya River and near the old historic district. This is not a disadvantage though as this Inn will put you close to the Grand Palace, Chinatown and Khao San Road as well as a lot of other historical sights. If you want to reach the city center, I recommend you take a taxi to Hua Lumphong MRT station. Doing so will save you lost time stuck in traffic.

Bhiman Inn is a smallish hotel, only 4 stories tall with about 45 rooms. Downstairs has a very good Thai restaurant in my opinion serving the best Tom Yum Kung this side of the river. I stayed on the 2nd floor in a deluxe single room. The room is small but comfortable and the shower in the bathroom is tiny. I've never been in a deluxe double room before so I don't know if there much of a difference.

Bhiman Inn HotelAs I mentioned earlier the Bhiman Inn is located the further away from Bangkok's city center but you are near all the historical sights such as Grand Palace and close to Khao San Road where you can meet people from all over the world in cool clubs and pubs.

There is also a really nice small park nearby the river and plenty of old Buddhist temples to explore all day by foot.

a smallish hotel but clean and can get a satisfying rest with nice clean rooms but no extras. friendly staff but too bad don't know a lot of english. bhimann is the place to stay if you really like the atmosphere of khao san road but don't want to be stuck in all the noise and mess of drunk people acting like idiots.

Ok rooms but poor service. We had a dirty towel and wanted it changed. Went down to reception to ask for a new towel and went back upstairs. We received the towel 1 hour later. This was not a language issue because staff understood us. I don't recommend staying here because staff don't care about guest.

Overall this is a decent hotel. I stayed in a room on the 2nd floor and it's not so big but good enough for 2 people and a few luggage. It's a clean room but the shower had a few moldy spots which I guess is normal for most hotels in the price range. I like the service here too. A few staff could not speak english but they were so friendly and really tried hard to do their best to assist us. The location of Bhimann Inn is lovely with a big park behind that's good for a picnic. Khao San road and Soi Rambuttri is south of the hotel and easy to walk to in 5 minutes. I would happily recommend Bhimann Inn for the price and value.

Bhimann Inn is an excellent clean budget hotel near Khao San Road. I was happy when I stumbled across your reviews because I had stayed a few nights at New World hotel and hated the stench coming from the canal which was outside window. Bhimann Inn was an oasis when I was given my room on the 3rd floor which was a superior room. It only cost a 150baht more than New World but well worth it. Stay at this hotel, it's a real winner.

Sawasdee Langsuan Inn and Hotel

Rates starting at 1200THB per night

Sawasdee Langsuan Inn and Hotel
Sawasdee Langsuan Inn is located in a popular area in central Bangkok where you'll find a lot of foreign embassies and fancy luxury hotels. It's a quiet neighborhood yet close to many excellent shopping malls like Central Department Store and Central World Mall.

Plus you have easy access to the Sky Train at Chit Lom BTS Station, about 10 minutes walk north. Patpong Red Light District is just a 20 minute walk south around Lumphini Park and around there is also Lumphini Night Bazaar, though it might be best to take a taxi there during an all too common hot night in Bangkok.

Sawasdee Langsuan Inn and HotelSawasdee Langsuan Inn and Hotel is a part of a chain of popular budget hotels throughout Bangkok. And to be quite honest this particular hotel property is the best for price and location. As I mentioned before hotels in this area are in the luxury price range so it's really quite rare to find a hotel in this neighborhood in the 1000THB price range.

This is an okay hotel for me. Maybe it's because there are many expensive hotels near Sawasdee Langsuan so I feel it should be better. But for the price of this hotel I can't complain. I was in a room on the 5th floor and it was dark and I wish the room lights were brighter. Breakfast was inlcuded but it was the same cold eggs and weird hot dogs and fruit every morning. Big plus about this hotel is its location.

Just stayed here for 3 nights this month. Quality of hotel is ok, but can't really complain because it is very plain. Good service though and location is the best. Thanks for getting us the best rates for Sawasdee.

Sawasdee is a good location but the room I was in needed to be changed. We booked 2 rooms and the other one on the 4th floor was in better shape. Because the price is just right in a popular location in Bangnkok I would think about coming to stay here again. But I may just try other hotels on your list first.

Samran Place in Bangkok

Rates starting at 1120THB per night

Samran Place Hotel Bangkok
The Samran Place Bangkok hotel is a great budget choice especially because it is so close to Bangkok's major commercial shopping areas such as MBK, Siam Square and Siam Paragon, Bangkok's newest super mall with the largest aquarium in Southeast Asia. Plus it's just a 5 minute walk to Phaya Thai BTS Station which can take you Chatuchak Weekend Market as well as nightlife districts.
About 10 minutes walk is the tech geek's paradise called Pantip Plaza where you can find genuine cheap priced computer parts.
Then you can check out one of my favorite food courts in Platinum Fashion Mall on the top floor. There's also some great local restaurants around Samran Place so make sure you try them out.

The money you save by staying in Samran Place can really go towards shopping to your hearts content.

Samran Place Hotel Bangkok
The standard rooms here are pretty small so depending on how many people are going be in the room you might want to spring for a superior which doesn't cost that much more. The rooms are clean and comfy enough for restful sleep. If you book a room that includes breakfast they have a decent breakfast spread. But to be honest it's better to eat outside near the hotel. Some restaurants have English menus and some you're just going to have to point with your finger.

I enjoyed my stay, just right for my budget and comfort. I like the location the most though and prefer the proximity to the Sky Train. Hotels in a quiet are though and you either have to do a bit of walking to Pratunman malls or take a tuk tuk. Hotel reception was a bit unfriendly to me and do not know whay.

Samran is a decent budget hotel. Like what everyone else says here it's really bare bones but that's all you can expect for a cheap place to stay. THe only real plus side to staying in Samran is the location. It's just a train stop away from Siam Paragon, MBK and a close walking to Pratunam. Its a clean place but beds are hard here and pillows are so thin it's useless.

Samran is a good budget hotel. Have no complaints at all except for the rock hard beds and limited English television channels. The walk to the BTS train station to me is still rather far, or maybe it's because of the hot weather making everything feel longer. This is a good place to stay for travelers on the cheap because my standard room was clean and the location is still good.

Lub d Bangkok Silom

Rates starting at 1050THB per night

Lub d Bangkok
Lub d Bangkok certainly takes the award for the strangest name for a hotel/hostel. But they have won some awards for being one of the best hostels in the world. To be quite honest I've only been to a few hostels when I was a youngster but when I checked out Lub d in Bangkok for this review, I've found that they are quite a stylish hostel. There are many room configurations from 8 beds to private rooms with a private bath. Most of the rooms have an electronic safe to keep your valuables. Overall this is a fancy looking hostel and very clean and well maintained.

The location is not bad at all, the river is not too far away and you can use public boats to explore the old parts of Bangkok up north. The nearest train is at Chong Nongsi BTS Station, about 10 minutes walk eastwards. Patpong Sex District is a 15 minute walk east as well, but don't plan on taking a bar girl back to your room unless you want to pay extra.
The immediate area of Lub d is a bit quiet and most of the international scene is in the Patpong area. But you can find lots of side street restaurants that serve cheap and delicious foods. Don't worry if you can't speak Thai, just point at what you want to eat and they'll figure out the rest.

Lub d BangkokSince Lub d is mostly a hostel there are plenty of young people from all over the world staying here. There's even a women's only dormitory and a hip and trendy cafe serving decently priced coffee and pastry on the ground floor. This is a really modern hostel with free Internet access and Wi-Fi, key-cards for rooms and even a nice little laundry room. Lub d is a very nice hotel and deserve their rewards.

I like LubD for quality but what really makes this hostel so good is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. Location is ok though, a bit far from the train stations, which is the best way to get around Bangkok. The area around the hostel is quiet but Patpong is not far and you can walk there in about 20 minutes.

Very nice designed guest friendly hotel, or is it a hostel? Whatever it is Lub D is a great place to stay. But I think it's in a quiet location though. Lucky it's not hot in Bangkok now so it's easy to walk to Patpong or the river to catch the ferry boat and BTS train.

Was at Lub D for 2 nights after reading your review. We like the place because it is very clean and really cheap. Only thing is I think it is a bit far of a walk to Sky Train. Lub d hotel/hostel is a really good choice if you want to stay in a high end area of Bangkok. My husband and booked a private room and the room rate you offer here is better than booking directly on Lub d website, so we appreciate the good value and review. Oh, you have to visit Patpong nightlife, it is a wild place by safe for travelers.

New World City Hotel in Bangkok

Rates starting at 1150THB per night

New World City Hotel
Formerly called the New World Lodge and it's quite a popular hotel with travelers from all over the world. Though to me some rooms are bad and some are good. If you are staying at the New World for awhile I would suggest you inspect the room first before you unpack your bags. Please don't let this scare you off from considering this hotel. I have stayed here a few times and only once had I asked for a room change. And if one is available the friendly staff is willing to offer it.

If you've heard about Khao San Road and all the bars, pubs, clubs and shopping areas there then you'll like this hotel since it's a 5 to 10 minute walk. There are plenty of other points of interest such as the Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha, Bangkok's National Museum and many other attractions that are just a short cheap cab ride away. I also suggest that you eat at restaurants in Khao San Road as well because the food is better and cheaper.

New World City HotelAs I mentioned earlier there are bad rooms and good rooms here in this hotel. In my opinion the bad rooms are facing the canal. It's a shame too since all rooms are balconies where you can have a decent view. Except the canal can smell pretty bad. Keeping the windows shut works well to keep the smell out though. The rooms are clean and quite comfortable for its class and price range, perfect for resting after a good day of exploring.

Citin Pratunam Hotel in Bangkok

Rates starting at 1499THB per night

Citin Pratunam Bangkok Hotel Review
For a budget hotel this is your best option if you want to be in Bangkok's city center. In the vicinity of this hotel are some major shopping areas such as Pratunam Market where you can buy really cheap clothing to Central World Department Store and Gaysorn Department Store where you can find the most expensive clothes.

For those who love gadgets and computers be sure to check out Pantip Plaza nearby, where you can find some pretty good deals when you bargain hard. This is the place also where many tourist come to buy illegally copied movie DVDs and CD musics.

To round off your shopping trip check out Platinum Fashion Mall nearby with a stop on the top floor for a delicious meal at the food mall.

The only bad thing about Citin Pratunam hotel is the distance it takes to get two of the closest BTS stations, Chit Lom BTS Station and Phaya Thai. Both are about equal distance in travel time about a 20 minute walk through the most congested streets you'll ever see. Once you're familiar with the area you'll get there even faster. Otherwise it might be better to take a taxi or use the free tuk tuk service offered by Citin Hotel..

Citin Pratunam Bangkok Hotel ReviewThe hotel is brand new, I think it opened around 2007 or 2008. From my experience all newer hotels are priced at budget rates and the prices are sure to shoot up. So the room I stayed in last year was super clean and everything was brand new.
If you're familiar with the Bangkok area, which I know most of the visitors to this website are, then the Citin Pratunam is a good hotel for a stay.

This is a great hotel with so much to shop in the area. Truly a girls dream come true. We loved our rooms in which we booked 2 superior rooms. Our beds were soft and always kept clean even though were so messy. There are also many restaurants Thai and Indian to choose from. And plenty of street food too. Stay at this hotel because its really affordable and the location is really excellent, not too far from airport train link.

Nice hotel rooms here at Citin. One warning though the area surrounding the hotel is very busy in the mornings especially the entire weekends because there are many people buying clothes. We stayed in a superior room and it was spotless clean with super friendly hotel workers. We were so pleased with the service and the breakfast in the morning was good with plenty of thai and western dishes. But there are many food outside too. Salil Hotel in Bangkok

Rates starting at 1650THB per night

Salil Hotel in Bangkok is one of the newest hotels in the area. A lot of people are first surprised at the hotel's design. Upon arrival of the hotel all you see is a colonial style building amidst a crowd of traditional Thai architecture. Inside the rooms look as if the furniture was purchased from a popular Swedish furniture company. It's a good thing as the rooms here are quite comfortable with many modern touches.

I like the location of this hotel and so do many of the hotel reviewers who've stayed here in the past. It's located right in the heart of Sukhumvit, a really popular neighborhood for foreign expats and Thai people with money. There are many international shops and restaurants. But the highlight for most male tourists of the the Salil Hotel's location are the 2 red light districts, Nana Entertainment Plaza and Soi Cowboy

Salil Hotel Room BangkokAs mentioned before the rooms of the Salil Hotel have many modern touch and feel. The folks working here speak a good deal of English and are very courteous and helpful. One last thing, the hotel is a bit far down the street, but there is a free tuk tuk that will take you to the main road of Sukhumvit road so you won't have to walk too far.

Like the rest of the comments here I agree Salil is a very cozy hotel in central Bangkok. The location is the real winning factor for me to stay here. It is near the Nana and Soi Cowboy but far enough to stay away from the noise.

Salil Hotel is tops. Very clean big rooms and comfortable beds with flat screen televisions. The hotel offers free tuk tuk to drive you to Sukhumvit road even when it is not a far walk. YOur reservation service is very good and reliable too with best price. Thank you so much for your help in helping me plan our trip.

I think Salil is a very good value for the money spent. I'm staying here right now and just want to thank you for introducing me to Salil. I booked a superior room and enjoy the style and roominess. Bathroom is quite small though but no problem. Housekeeping is very efficient and always friendly. It is fairly new and the location is very good with a tuk tuk that will take you to the main road. I enjoy this hotel and know others will too.

The Regent Silom in Bangkok

Rates starting at 1410THB per night

Regent Silom Hotel Review
The Regent Silom in Bangkok is right in the heart of the central business district. By day it's streets are bustling with office workers making their way to work. By night Silom is transformed into one of Bangkok's wildest red light district Patpong

Regent Silom is tucked away in an alley near a lot of businesses where gays like to hang out. The area is tight so there are rooms with no windows. The rooms themselves are clean and tidy and quite comfortable. Service is friendly here, but be patient as the staff here speak very little English or any other foreign language.

The area surrounding the Regent Silom will keep tourist quite busy. There's Lumphini Park not too far away for a walk during the day and by night you can explore Suan Luam Night Bazaar and the sex district of Patpong nearby. There are plenty of great restaurants, international and Thai to satisfy plenty of appetites.

Regent Silom Hotel ReviewOverall for a budget hotel the Regent Silom in Bangkok is not a bad choice at all. There are plenty of sights to see and best of all the BTS Sky Train Sala Daeng Station is right outside and it'll take you to the rest of popular shopping malls and departments stores in Sukhumvit.

This hotel is dump. My room was old and smelly and the hotel workers are rude. Outside is crowded with people. It's only good if you like the go go bars with so many creepy old men drooling over young girls.

Regent's rooms are cramped and tiny. Better off spending your money in another hotel.

If you stay here you will experience a lot of noise from the outside because it's close to gay bars. Suffice to say I was not happy staying here at all. Small rooms and smelly streets is not where a hotel is supposed to be located.

Small room, stayed on the 3rd floor in a standard room. Bathroom was in bad shape with faucets in sink a rusty and could've used maintenance. Only positive is good place to stay in Patpong go go bar distirct.

Too much noise from outside window. Rooms so small felt like a prison.

Manhattan Hotel in Bangkok

Rates starting at 2000THB per night includes taxes and breakfast

Manhattan Hotel Bangkok
Don't be surprised to see a bunch of tour buses parked outside the Manhattan Hotel. This is a hotel largely popular with tour groups so the rooms here are often booked full. However if you can get a room here it's a good deal. This hotel has some good guest facilities such as a pool, jacuzzi and a small fitness center. Not bad at all for 1400 Baht a night.

The Manhattan hotel is also in a ideal location in the popular district of Sukhumvit very close to 2 red light districts, Nana Entertainment Plaza and Soi Cowboy. Also there are some very popular clubs and discos to check out in the area such as Bed Supper Club and Q Bar. Besides the obvious pick up spots there are many freelance prostitutes near on the main road of Sukhumvit.

Manhattan Hotel BangkokRooms at the Manhattan Hotel are being renovated so make sure you ask for them up on check in. Here's how you can get better treatment from hotel reception. Make sure you dress as nice and neatly as you possibly can. Don't check in like you just came back from the sauna. Thai people will treat you better by the way you look and are dressed. You'll find that your request are honored quickly if a new room is in fact available.

the manhattan hotel is prime location. for the price it is very well worth the money because the rooms are nice, a bit dated for my taste but clean and in good working order, especially the air condition. this is a big tourist hotel for men because there are many thai hookers nearby because the hotel is located in a red light district. stay here it's good, cheap and plenty of things to eat and shop near the hotel, and train station not far too.

Thank you Edwin for recommending Manhattan Hotel, the location as you mentioned is very good and to me I felt like I was in a really big city since I was worried about where to stay in Bangkok. Thanks for warning me about the taxi drivers as well waiting outside hotels. I can see what you mean they are aggressive. I would come back to this hotel without hesitation.

I just finished my stay here at Manhattan hotel. I really have to recommend them too. The rooms are nicely done and newish. I stayed in a superior room on the 10th floor by the way for 2 nights. Breakfast is filling and the location is the best. It is right between 2 go go bar districts plus many popular bars and clubs nearby. Thanks for the great hotel deal too!

The Bedrooms Boutique Hotel

The Bedrooms Boutique Hotel
The Bedroom's is located on Sukhumvit, a very popular stretch of road filled with great department stores and the more expensive hotels. The reason why Bedrooms is a budget hotel is because it's on the far end. But don't fret, by using the train just a few minutes away at On Nut BTS station can zip you away to one of the poshest department store called Emporium at the Prom Phrong BTS stop. You're not going to find any cheap items here but you may find a lot of high quality products such as high fashion clothing and bags on sale.

Check out the food courts on the top floor of Emporium for a delicious sampling of Asian cuisine in a cafeteria with a great view of Victoria Park. You'll also find a high concentration of massage parlors that offer funny business as well as many others that offer legitimate body massages.

The Bedrooms Boutique HotelThis hotel opened around 2008 I think, and everything is perfectly new and well kept. I actually like the mattress because it's not too firm. Most budget hotels have really firm mattresses. Bathroom is smallish but clean with nice looking fixtures. Room has free Internet WI-FI, a real big plus!

The coffee shop downstairs is expensive. For a real treat go eat at Carrefour a French Supermarket chain. Cheap and plenty of variety of treats.

New hotel with clean rooms. A bit of a walk from the nearest Sky Train. Check out the Carrefour shopping center for cheap eats. I stayed in a standard room and the size was very nice, plenty of space and the bathroom was well spaced too. This is a newish hotel so everything inside is very fresh. I like the staff too, very friendly and can speak enough english to help you get to where you need to go. I recommend them too.

We're very happy to have chosen Bedrooms hotel for our first trip stay in Bangkok. We were afraid of the quality of the hotels since we heard horror stories from other people. We were also afraid no one in the hotel speaks english. This is a very good hotel very clean and I think new. Next to hotel is a big shopping mall with a good food court. No need to speak because you can just point to what you want.

Clean rooms and fairly new. We booked 2 superior rooms on the 3rd floor and both were in very good condition. Location we think is not close to train station as we thought. Big supermarket nearby was the highlight because it had a big food court with many delicious thai noodles and rice. Otherwise is a quiet location. We have to add that staff working here are very friendly and some speak english.

A clean hotel with wonderful service. The location is in a quiet area though the train station is very near so not really a problem. Just want to say thanks for introducing us to this budget hotel.

Hope Land Executive Residences

Rates starting at 1560THB per night

Here is a really good example of an excellent quality serviced apartment hurt by declining tourism. Yes this is a serviced apartment - which is really a hotel that is meant for long stay residents. However it is perfectly fine for tourists too. For a few hundred Baht more you can also get a buffet style breakfast with the room rate. Hope Land is located in a quiet section of the Sukhumvit Road heading west. But you'll be right next to the Sky Train Phrakhanong station. And that's a good thing since it can take you to popular places nearby such as Emporium Mall as well as the seedy nightlife of Soi Cowby and Nana red light districts within minutes.

Hope Land is a rather large property with a nice decent sized pool. But don't expect to be getting much sun as the hotel itself hovers right above it. For the health nut you will certainly enjoy the fitness center stocked with the latest treadmills and circuit weight machines. Standard rooms at the Hope Land are of very good quality though slightly smallish but the style of the room gives a good feeling of airiness. Since the room rates at this property has been drastically discounted and if you can afford it then go for a room upgrade to live it up in style.

Hope Land Executive ResidencesNow the area surrounding Hope Land is a quite mix of commercial and residential buildings. And there really is nothing to do around this property which isn't really such a drawback since the Sky Train station is just a short walk from the entrance. But there is an excellent all you can eat barbecue nearby called a Moo Ka Tat. Just ask the staff to direct you. For 100 Baht you can stuff yourself silly with barbecued meats, som tams, Thai noodles and desserts.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I'm surprised not too many people know about this place because for the 5 nights I've stayed here I saw very little guests. I stayed in a superior room similar to the one you made a video review of. Very clean and good quality beds and the plushest pillows. Lucky this Hope Land is in a quiet area or else it would cost so much more.

This is the second time my wife and I visited Bangkok. The first time we stayed at the Westin Grande and though the hotel was excellent my wife was put off by the prostitutes in the area. So this time we decided to stay further away. I came across your video review of Hope Land and decided to stay there. Long story short we love this hotel. It's so much cheaper and affordable and the quality is decent and the bed and room is comfortable and big. My wife was happy since the area is quieter but close to trains. So we thank you for the bottom of our hearts for making our visit to Bangkok a memorable one.

Happy to have read your recommendation. My wife and I enjoyed or stay here for 5 nights. We stayed in the older section of the hotel just like you and it was a big and comfortably clean room. We liked that the train station was nearby. Be careful of the stray dogs nearby, they get rather feisty.
