I enjoyed my stay, just right for my budget and comfort. I like the location the most though and prefer the proximity to the Sky Train. Hotels in a quiet are though and you either have to do a bit of walking to Pratunman malls or take a tuk tuk. Hotel reception was a bit unfriendly to me and do not know whay.

Samran is a decent budget hotel. Like what everyone else says here it's really bare bones but that's all you can expect for a cheap place to stay. THe only real plus side to staying in Samran is the location. It's just a train stop away from Siam Paragon, MBK and a close walking to Pratunam. Its a clean place but beds are hard here and pillows are so thin it's useless.

Samran is a good budget hotel. Have no complaints at all except for the rock hard beds and limited English television channels. The walk to the BTS train station to me is still rather far, or maybe it's because of the hot weather making everything feel longer. This is a good place to stay for travelers on the cheap because my standard room was clean and the location is still good.

THis is a good cheap hotel to really consider. My room was standard on the 4th floor. My sister had another room facing the street which to her was a bit noisy during the morning. Overall we were really satisfied with Samran hotel and recommend staying there to all.

Samran is an okay place to stay very simple and plain but for the price you cant complain! Hey I made a poem! I recommend this hotel for location and close to BTS train. My bed was a bit too hard though I can still feel the pain in my back.

Good basic and simple hotel with ideal location. Great for budget travelers like me who only need a few nights to stay and a comfortable bed. Try the halal restaurants around the corner they are very good.

Samran is a good hotel near a busy neighborhood. I booked a 3 night stay here in a superior room on the 4th floor and am happy with the plain rooms. Train station is a 10 minute walk with many outdoor restaurants nearby. Staff are very friendly always with a smile and willing to help. I recommend Samran too if looking for a place in central Bangkok.

Cheap room in quiet neighborhood close to shopping malls and train station. Too bad the room is as plain as a prison.

A true value in heart of Bangkok. This is a good place for budget travelers who enjoy being close to city center and the best shopping for clothes and souvenirs. We felt very safe here since we are ladies traveling in Bangkok. Good rooms and very nice staff. Train is nearby and everything was wonderful, except the heat and the pouring rain of course!

Perfect place to stay for a budget travelers. Booked a 5 night stay in a standard room which was clean and comfortable. Bed was a bit hard as described by other reviewers but I didn't care. Air con was a bit noisy. Staff are not super friendly but they are still good service. But price can't be beat so I don't have any negative things to say about Samran.

Quaint location and room. Enjoyed the middle eastern food in the area since I am Arab. Good friendly staff and I like location close to big major mall named Siam. Good price and even better place. Thank you for recommendation

No complaints. Good clean rooms and many ethnic food outside. Train is just 10 minute walk. Though the area is quiet you can get to shopping and in Siam and MBK very easy by tuk tuk or taxi which shouldn't cost more than 50 baht dependign on traffic.

Agreed, close to train and many place for shopping. I like the food in the area with many places to see nearby. Good for tourist with family.

Really good hotel choice for shopping in MBK, SIam and Pratunam. It's a quite clean hotel with a mattress that's too firm but good enough for a night's rest. There are so many restaurants to eat around Samran because I think food in hotel is not so great. I booked a standard room for 4 nights and didn't find any problems at all. I would consider coming back here agian.

Yes I agree for 1000THB the rooms are clean but most importantly the location is very good for die hard shoppers like me. Also many food places to eat around that are very cheap and tasty.

We stayed on the 5th floor, a standard room with not much of a view but our room was good enough for a rest and the bathroom was clean enough to get refreshed. I wouldn't mind staying at Samran in Bangkok again.

Nice cheap simple rooms and service but excellent location.

I booked a standard room here with my girlfriend 3 times and every time we are so happy to save money and be near some of the best shopping in Bangkok. The rooms here are very simple and clean but if all you want to do in Bangkok is eat and shop then stay at Samran, you won't regret it.

Not a bad place to stay, Samran Place rooms are very plain and is worth the price. I was concerned that it wasn't going to be clean but it was. I would come back but I'd like to check out the other hotels.

I booked the standard rooms for 3 days and it's really bare basics in a good way. Because the most important thing is cleanliness and the rooms are. The biggest advantage about this hotel is the location because it's very close to Sky Train and shopping attractions.
  • Naomi B Apr 11, 2009 @ 9:07 pm | delete
Samran is so close to many great shopping malls. We came back with loads of goodies every day from the money we saved staying here. We booked 2 rooms last month and we're satisfied for the price we payed. I'll be back no worries at all!

Nice little hotel with good service by people working here. My standard room was just fine and clean. I can't believe this hotel is priced low, I guess they get a lot of hotel guest. It's a great place to start off shopping in Bangkok as many department stores are near.
  • Monica Hong Feb 24, 2009 @ 12:18 pm | delete
I like this hotel because it's so close to all these amazing shopping department stores. My room was a little old but still comfortable and clean which is my concern. Very close to overhead train station and many small street side stores to eat, very cheap and very yummy. I may come back next month, but I want to try other hotels on your list. Thank You!

Stayed here two night January 21, 2009. Hotel is clean and no frills. Worth exactly what I paid for the standard room on the 5th floor. Free brakefast was horrible, good think plenty of cheap places to eat outside. Biggest perk about staying here is location. Samaran is close to every shopping to make my way really happy. I will come back next tiem. Great infor btw! You really helped us plan a good trip.

You get what you pay for. Rooms are fine but don't expect much. Location of this hotel is very good as you have access to many shopping areas and very close to BTS train. I stayed here around December for 3 days and I might come back, but I would like to explore more hotels on your website in the future.

Great location, super close to everything mentioned above review. I stayed in a deluxe room for 5 days early January on a tour in Asia. The room is very plain and simple but most importantly clean and comfortable. You have to stop by Siam Paragon a really cool super mall!
