By the way if you have ideas of your own please post them at the comments sections and share your money saving ideas as well.

To Save or Not to save that is the question

Save money on your commute to work

Here is a list on how to save some dough.

1) This is a no brainer but if plan to buy a car buy a more fuel efficient car that gives you more for your money. This doesn't mean buying a hybrid car or a mini car.

2) If you have extra stuff in your trunk take it out. Extra weight on your car makes you burn more gas.

3) Check the air on your tires. The less air you have the harder it is for your car to go.

4) Drive the speed limit and accelerate at a smooth speed. The faster you accelerate the more energy you burn.

5) Use regular gas. Using super unleaded does not make much of a difference unless your owners manual ask for super unleaded.

6) Have regular tune ups such as changing your spark plugs and your air filter. Having these changed regular will give you more gas mileage for your money.

7) Buy used car with a warranty. Its cheaper and its easier to pay off something that is less then what a new car is worth. The warranty is to insure that your car will be fixed if anything happens.

8) Take the bus to work. Normal bus passes run about 25 dollars a month versus 80 to 100 dollars a month just going to work! If you multiply that times a 12 months you get the picture.

9) Turn your radio off when you get out of the car. Leaving the radio on causes your car on start ups to burn more gas since it requires more energy to get the car going.

10) The same goes for air condition. Turn it off before you get off the car.

11) Roll your window down when your driving below 40 miles per hour. The only time you want to roll your windows up is when your are on the highway.

12) Buy a car thats aerodynamic meaning the your car has a smooth shape to it instead of a square front shape. An Aerodynamic car can help your car cut through the air faster with less momentum.

13) Car pooling to work will save you half what you normally pay just by yourself.

(non car related savings)

11) Own a home and want to save money on your energy bill? Buy fluorescent lights. They come in all different sizes. Unlike regular light bulbs that you find at the dollar store, they will save you money in the long run.

12) Dry your clothes on a clothes line. Saves on using the dryer.

13) Sometimes buying bulk goods can save you some money. Or when items are on sale.

14) When going to the grocery store have a list and dont shop hungry. Chances are if your hungry you will spend more.

15)Purchase more non parishable goods and stock up on the deals. This will save you the time and money when you go shopping.

16) Save your coupons. You can cut your grocery bill 25 percent on items you normally buy

More tips

16) If you have a central unit place the temperature at 85 degrees when your not home. This will decrease your energy bill. When you get home you can set it back to 75 to 78 degrees.

17) Nothing like having shade. Planting a tree that provides shade will reduce your energy bill by 10 to 15 percent.

18) Regular maintance on your central unit will help you cut cost and also prevent future repair costs. This can be changing the filter when needed

19) If you got a little bit of money to do home improvements change out your windows with Acrylic windows. These are windows that are made not made with steel structure. Simply put the window frame will not absorb the heat.

20) Seal any cracks around your home with weather sealer.

21) Buy a storm door. This will prevent any heat or cooling from leaving the front door.

Credit Cards

1) Use only credit cards for emergencys only.

2) Pay off your card within 30 days. Meaning if you borrow from your card make sure you pay it off within 30 days. You dont get the interest added on when you pay it before the 30 days.

3) Call your credit card company and ask for a lower interest rate. Chances are if you have been on time on your payments they will lower it.

4) If they say no you can always transfer your credit card to another credit card company that offers a lower interest rate. Sometimes you can get a credit card with 0 percent interest for a whole year.

5) If you really need a credit card use it only for emergencies.

6) Create an account that pays a good interest rate. Use this account to add funds and use the account as a credit card. This way your only paying yourself and not some other company.
