The History of Buffalo Gold Coins 

The buffalo gold coin was first minted in 2006. This beautiful United States gold coin was the first 24-karat gold coin ever produced my the US Mint. This gold coin has an astounding .9999 gold purity.

The front of this coin has a symbol of America, the buffalo. This buffalo symbolizes the frontier of America. The first frontier that Americans conquered. The back of these buffalo gold coins has a picture of a Native American with the word "liberty" lining the top of the coin.

The artist who designed the American buffalo coins was named Fraser. Fraser used three models for his Native American busts. They were Chief Iron Tail, the chief of the Lakota Sioux, Chief Two Moons, the chief of the Cheyenne, and an unknown Indian who is the one on the gold buffalo coins.

As you can see from the front of this gold buffalo coin, it is a $50 United States coin. This historic buffalo coin is a great way to start collecting US gold coins.
