Bugles Across America, America's Bugle Corps for America's Vets
This page is dedicated to my bugle corps, Bugles Across America. Our mission is to honor veterans and their families with the live sounding of Taps. From my corps's website:
"Bugles Across America, NFP was founded in 2000 by Tom Day, when Congress passed legislation stating Veterans had a right to at least 2 uniformed military
people to fold the flag and play taps on a CD player. Bugles Across America was begun to take this a step further, and in recognition of the service these
Veterans provided their country, we felt that every Veteran deserved a live rendition of taps played by a live Bugler. To this end, we are actively seeking
volunteers to provide this valuable service to Veterans and their families.
Bugler Volunteers can be male or female. They can play a traditional bugle with no valves, or they can perform the ceremony on a Trumpet, Cornet, Flugelhorn,
or a 1, 2 or 3 valved bugle. The bugler can be of any age as long as they can play the 24 notes of Taps with an ease and style that will do honor to both
the Veterans, their families, and the burial detail performing the service."

The Military Funeral
Category: File - :SMA Dunway Burial at Arlington National Cemetery 2008.jpg|thumb|right|325px|The United States Army Caisson Platoon of the 3d United States Infantry Regiment "The Old Guard" transports the flag-draped coffin of Sergeant Major of the Army George W. Dunaway on a limbers and caissons during a military funeral processional at Arlington National Cemetery in 2008.
A military funeral is a specially orchestrated funeral given by a country's military for a veteran, a soldier who died in battle, or another prominent military figures or heads of state. A military funeral may feature guards of honor, the firing of volley shots as a salute, drumming and other military elements, with a flag draping over the coffin. On occasions deceased soldiers have been accorded military funerals by their enemies.
