Build-A-Bear Ice Cream Bears

The Build-A-Bear ice cream series is a collaboration between Build-A-Bear Workshop and Baskin Robbins. The collection features 4 sweet smiling bears that comes in tasty summer ice cream flavors:

• Mint Chip Bear
• Bubblegum Bear
• Hot Fudge Sundae Bear
• Orange Sherbet Bear

Launched on 2 July 2010, these newly introduced ice cream bears are hot favorite right from the start. Initially, the promotion was planned to run from 2 July to 30 September but within weeks, these limited edition ice cream bears were sold out in all stores across the US.

What makes these ice cream bears special is the unique blend of colors on their soft, shiny skin. Each bear also has an embriodery of the ice cream it represents on the left foot. Not to mention the cute little red cherry on the nose that makes them super adorable!

The bears are 15-inches tall and come with a plush toy Baskin Robbins ice cream cones. The ice creams cone has elastic band attached to them so that the bears can hold them with on their paws. Besides the bears, there are also matching ice cream outfits and accessories.

The Build-A-Bear Mint Chip Ice Cream Bear, or lovingly known as Mint Chip Bear for short, is my favorite. It is perhaps also the most popular of the lot. Many kids and adults love this bear because it is in beautiful pastel green mint color, dotted with little brown patches and its fur has a subtle shine to it. Doesn't it remind you of a tantalising minty ice cream covered with lots of chocolate chips? The bear also comes with a plush mint chip ice cream cone, topped with a red cute red cherry. *Yummy!*

The Mint Chip bear has the nicest costume outfit too. Its Mint Chip skirt outfit comes in two pieces:

• A white singlet top with a glittery mint chip cone, decorated with brown ribbon and sequins
• A tulle skirt in green, brown and white that matches the fur color of the Mint Chip Bear.

Based on my research, the Build-A-Bear Bubblegum Ice Cream Bear seems to be the next in popularity after Mint Chip Bear. Like a bubblegum flavor ice cream, the color of the Bubblegum Bear fur is a mixture of blue, soft pink and hot pink. A very special skin tone compared to the conventional teddy bears. It comes with a plush Baskin Robbins bubblegum flavour ice cream cone.

The special attire for Bubblegum Bear is a 2-piece outfit consisting of a white sleeveless ruffle t-shirt that features a pink ice cream and text that reads "I Scream for Ice Cream", together with a pair of pink leggings with decroative pink sequins. As of today, this outfit is still available for online purchase at the Build-A-Bear Workshop website. But it may not be there for long as it is stated on the website "limited availability", meaning there are only a few pieces left.

I love Build-A-Bear Hot Fudge Sundae Ice Cream Bear because I love hot fudge sundae ice cream! (Well, I love the bear too) The Hot Fudge Sundae Bear comes across as a boy as it is always featured in boyish looking shirt and pants. It has a nice unique skin color too, a mix of chocolate and very pale orange that almost look like white.

In the picture below, the Hot Fudge Sundae Bear is dressed in the limited edition Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Server Outfit. This outfit includes a white apron featuring a double scoop ice cream cone design and has a small pocket at the side with the Baskin Robbins Logo on it, as well as a little round cap, exactly like the one worn by your friendly local Baskin Robbins ice Cream server!

Last but not the least, we have Build-A-Bear Orange Sherbet Ice Cream Bear! The skin of Orange Sherbet bear looks almost uniform in color but if you take a close look at it, you can see that there's hints of cream well-blended into the orange. The inside of its ears and the bottom of its feet are decorated with colourful rainbow toppings. As you might have guessed it, it comes with a plush Baskin Robbins orange sherbet ice cone.

You can dress Orange Sherbet Bear in the 2-piece Milkshake Ruffle pyjamas outfit. The top is a cute little white t-shirt with puffy ruffle sleeves and a large milkshake design. The bottom is multi-color milkshake pants with ruffled seams. There is also the milkshake bedroom slippers to match!

If you have the Mint Chip Bear and are looking to buy its skirt outfit, don't forget to include the ice-cream panties. Of course, you can let the other bears wear it too. Just my two cents, the panties are more suitable for skirt outfits. If your bear is wearing pants, you don't really need the panties.
