How to Build a Garden Shed - Step by Step
Save money by building a Do It Yourself garden shed. All you need are the instructions telling you how.
This shed will have a simple gable roof, double doors, and both side and rear windows for a natural lighting effect. A wood ramp is optional for easy access to lawnmowers and other lawn equipment.
You can customize the shed with more windows for a potting shed or a hobby workshop.
Contractors are expensive and even if you have no experience with carpentry, don't worry! That is what this lens is for.

Now let's get started!
Garden Shed Material List
The list is rather lengthy, so rather than include it all here, there will be a link to a complete Bill of Materials at the end of the lens. You'll want to have everything on hand before you begin the project. Contact your local building materials supply source and inquire about delivery options.
Full service building material suppliers will take your materials list and price everything out so you have a firm quote of the materials cost before you begin building your garden shed.
Building Shed Elevations
A good set of plans or blueprints will show elevation images and at different stages of construction.A quality set will show you the front, left, right, and rear elevations.
There are framing elevations, finished elevations, trim elevations, and so forth. These elevations give you an image of the shed as it is viewed by the human eye "in person," not flat on the page like a floor plan.
A floor plan is useful, too, but it is hard to view a floor plan and have an idea what the actual building will "look like" upon completion.
