Ranked #5,915 in Culture & Society, #123,880 overall

using Zazzle to create an on-line store for your local community

Do you raise money for your local community? Are you looking for fundraising ideas? Have you thought about using Zazzle to build an online store for your local community? You can use Zazzle to raise money for local community projects.

I am a member of our local residents association. I have the role of nature and ecology officer and because I have a general interest in social media I suggested that we create an on-line store to compliment our community website which we created using Ning The great thing about Zazzle is that we can use product panel widgets in the community site.

Upper Saxondale is situated on the outskirts of Nottingham and is surrounded by old parkland and nature reserve in which the the residents have planted over 3000 trees and 2000 bluebells. We also have thriving bat colonies and a wide variety of bird species too. The Zazzle products we have created include some of the lovely scenes form around the village. Each season provides something new. The images we have chosen are quite generic too which means we have created a range of snowy winter scenes that make ideal Christmas cards for anyone around the world.

One of the iconic features of Upper Saxondale are the four gazebos that are situated in the parkland. They were access points to services tunnels that criss crossed the Saxondale Lunatic Asylum. The apartments that can be seen on the edge of the parkland were once ward and management buildings at the hospital. They are now beautifully renovated and remodeled homes.

Inspired by Beverly Hills 90210 we decided to make creative use of our post code with a clothing range that features it! Of course its a bit tongue in cheek but it certainly creates a smile too. We also feature the initials of our residents association too - USRA.

The photograph at the top of the lens is a pathway in our village called Millennium Way. Carved into the paving stones are the roman numerals indicating the centuries up to the Millennium in 2000.
