When you only utilize a partial lift, you cheat the targeted muscle from the all of the work it's supposed to be getting. Lowering the weight being lifted might be necessary to go the full range and keep proper form...BUT IT'S OKAY!

Metabolic Resistance Training Program

1A) Deadlift - 8 reps

Rest 1 minute.

1B) 1-Arm Standing DB Shoulder Press - 12 reps (1 side at a time)

2A) Chin-up - Max reps minus 1

    Hey powerman918. Thanks for the comments. I would agree with the idea that deadlifts play a big role in adding muscle mass and highly recommend them. My word of caution for anyone performing that exercise is to be sure and use proper form and technique. That exercise can be a big risk for anyone with lower back issues. [in reply to powerman918]

    Nice lens jochris.....Sometimes it's easy for us to "forget our basics" if you will.
    I personally prefer a program using high intensity -mid rep's with a full range of motion.
    Deadlift's really pack on the mass (a MUST during the "foundation building phase") if properly performed and cycled.
