The First Step in Building your Own Shed?
In addition, they provide a free plan as well, via their website. This was the determining factor for me. After the sample, I decided to go all the way and get their package, and it was well worth the money.
What do you need to build your own shed?
...and what do you get?
Lets break it down:
1.) You need a plan: You have to know what you want out of your project. What are your size constraints? What will you be storing? What's your budget? And what are your resources? Ask yourself these questions; this is where it all starts!
2.) You ACTUALLY NEED plans: Finding worthwhile plans can be a bit of a pain. I suggest trying Shed Blue Prints Online is a great resource for the DIY'er. Inexpensive plans (also a free set) and they include all the information that you need for PLENTY of unique designs.
3.) Materials: If you go with Shed Blue Prints Online as I did, the materials are all covered. You can get everything from your local hardware store, and dimensions are included so that you get EXACTLY what you need, ensuring efficiency.
4.) Tools: This all depends if you get your materials precut at your local hardware store or not. If you don't you'll probably want to make sure you want power tools too keep the process going quickly. Otherwise, hand tools and other minor tools are all that should be required (an electric drill is a must!)
5.) And build it!: All this talk is well and good, but the real trick is to get out there and actually build it. Again, try these blueprints and I'm sure you'll have a much easier time of it.
