I live in Iowa, and in our capitol we have the Drake College, although we don't call it that; the College is known to Iowans as the Drake Bulldogs. When I was in high school, I had a girlfriend who's English Bull Dog was chosen to be among the contestants for the College's mascot. Drake ran the contest every year, and it was a very prestigeous honor.That was many years ago, I cannot remember the female English Bull Dog's name, but I do remember that she did achieve the 'runner up' position. We all thought it was pretty cool, a female competing for a male position. After  all, it WAS the '70's! I do also remember that when I visited my girlfriend's house the Bull Dog was always very friendly and loving.
