The Bundt Cake's Recent Rise in Popularity
Bundt cake pans are quickly increasing in popularity. This is due in part to their ease of use, beautiful cake result, and easy cleanup.Bundt cake pans have come a long way since the traditional round pan we all know. There is a wider variety available today. You can find pans in the shape of a castle, pans with hearts on top, and there is even a bundt pan shaped like a stadium. There are also a lot of different mini shapes to choose from.
One of my favorite brands is Nordic Ware. I prefer pans made from cast aluminum with a non-stick surface. I have always had great results with these.
An Easy Cake to Make with Your Kids
For a quick and easy cake you can do and also let the kids help, use a boxed cake mix and buy a ready made jar of frosting. My daughters helped with the one you see pictured. We mixed a regular yellow cake mix, and baked in the heart bundt pan for 40 minutes at 350 degrees (F).
For the chocolate glaze, we used a ready made chocolate frosting from the store. When the cake is done, let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Turn cake out on rack. Let cool a little more. Next, Put icing in the microwave with the lid off for about 30 seconds, then remove and stir. If icing is not yet thin enough to drizzle, microwave again for about 10 -15 more seconds and then stir again. Using a spoon, drizzle the melted icing over the cake. This looks pretty and tastes great too!
The kids are proud to show off their creation!
