Use a Cake Pan Spray
You can help to avoid the bundt cake sticking to the side of the pan by using a good quality cake spray such as Baker's Joy No-Stick Spray
. Use a pastry brush to make sure that the spray gets into all the corners of the cake pan.Pour the Cake Batter Slowly
The aim is to reduce the number of air bubbles in the bundt cake mix. This helps the mixture cook evenly. Pour into one side of the cake pan and then tilt the pan until the mix fills it completely. Then tap the sides of the pan to get rid of as many air bubbles as possible.
Fill The Cake Pan 3/4 Full
This is a good rule of thumb to prevent over filling the cake pan. You can then use a spatula to push the mix to the outside of the pan and slightly up the walls. This should ensure that you get the batter into all areas of the cake pan and provide more details in the finished cake.
Bake and Rest
As with any cakes it is important to get the over temperature right. Use the temperature shown on the bundt cake recipe but remember to lower this by 25 degrees F or 10 degrees Centigrade if you are using a dark colored or black cake pan. Place the cake pan at the center of the oven.
When ready remove the bundt cake from the oven and leave it to rest for 10 minutes. Gently shake the pan to see if the cake is loose and coming away from the sides. Gently use a plastic knife if you need to help the cake move away from the sides of the pan. Leave to cool on a cooling rack.
