One of the best things we had in our house when the kids were growing up was an awesome bunk bed that was hand made from some simple bunk bed plans. My brother-in-law made the bed made for his children and then it was passed along to a cousin and then to us. It was easy to take apart and simple enough for two people to put back together, so moving it from house to house was not problem. This bed provided many years of enjoyment for three families and counting, as both a place to sleep and play. When he was little he slept in lower bunk, and used he top bunk as a safe place to store and play with his toys. As he got older, he chose to sleep in the top bunk and used the bottom for storage and as a reading nook or some kind of indoor fort.
