Bunny Photos - Saying Goodbye To Our Pet

I am so pleased that the bunny photos turned out so well as we recently said goodbye to a friend, our bunny Fluffy Nemo. She's a beautiful healthy happy bunny and it was a bit sad to let her move to a new home. We took years to make the decision. But finally it was made for us. You see, we travel a lot and it is not fair to an animal. Fluffy Nemo found herself at new homes 2-3 times each year, for months at a time. So, we have found her a new home with a wonderful loving family, and before we left for the mountains once again, it was time to say goodbye. I hope you enjoy our bunny photos.

Why Did We Name Her "Fluffy Nemo"

Actually it's a bit of a sad story

bunny picturesAbout six years ago we were offered two beautiful baby bunnies. They had been bred accidentally by a friend of friend, between her lovely Flemish Giant and a wild bunny. With two homeschooled girls, two bunnies seemed the perfect addition to our family. Well our girls were still young. Sarah named all pets "Nemo" and Melisa really wanted a furry pet to name Fluffy. So there it was, two bunnies, one to be named Fluffy, the other Nemo.

On the day we were to pick up the bunnies, one was gone, assumed to have been taken by a wild bird or other creature overnight. So, the remaining bunny became "Fluffy Nemo." As the years went by, we forgot what a silly name it was, except when we introduced her to new people. The reaction was always the same, "What did you say her name is?"

Our Bunny Hutch Was Homemade By the Girls

With some help from Dad

After about 5 years it became apparent that it was time for a new bunny hutch. The old one was just that, old. So, we incorporated this into our education and the girls, along with their dad built Fluffy Nemo a new home. They did a lovely job. It has a large hide box area and two "exit" doors to make clean up easier. The hutch has moved on with her to help Fluffy Nemo with her transition.

    I love bunny rabbits, used to have some when I was growing up, then I had to get a couple for the my kids. They are very special friends as pets. Cute pictures, thanks for sharing.

    I had to give up my cats when I moved to Australia for 3 1/2 years. It wasn't easy finding homes for them, but I couldn't subject them to 6 months of quarantine.
