My Top Tips To Lose Belly Fat

If you want to burn belly fat then you probably know just how though it can be. I've been there and I tried diet after diet without much success. Belly fat is not just ugly, but poses serious health risks. If the fact that you can't fit into last season's jeans isn't inspiration enough them maybe this will be...

If you have a hip to waste ratio bigger than 0.80 then you are considered to be at a serious risk of heart disease and potentially cancer. This hip to waist ratio has become the new measure of health and doctors now use it as an accurate gauge for your likeliness to develop other diseases. If there ever was a motivation to burn belly fat, then hopefully this is it.

Getting rid of your gut is tough, but worth it. It is not impossible either. Even (or especially) if you tried diets before you can lose abdominal fat by just being sensible and getting a bit more serious about it.

The Myths of Belly Fat

These are the 3 biggest "misunderstood" aspects of belly fat...

In many ways the diet industry is to blame for a lot of the weight problems that we are faced with today. As a nation we are getting bigger and bigger and although we are living longer, the quality of our lives are deteriorating because of our size. Diet after diet is being promoted in the media as the "solution" to losing weight.

Yes, diets do have a role and are important but nowhere is there any real education about actually adopting a healthy lifestyle. Diets by nature are only temporary. The reason why so many people give up on losing weight is simply because they fail to maintain their results.

Fat-free foods, diet soda and sugar free snacks are being sold as "diet food". How ridiculous! None of these are responsible for the belly fat that is crippling so many kids and adults. Let's look at these 3 myths and why you need to be especially careful of these diet gimmicks

Low Fat
Low fat products is at the order of the day and it is a proven methods for retailers to sell more. What most people don't know is that these so-called low fat foods are nothing but cleverly disguised junk food. Yes, it might be low in certain types of fats, but if you look closely at the ingredients they usually make it up with some other garbage ingredient.

Sugar
This is probably the biggest and oldest myth about getting fat. We've all been taught that sugar makes you fat; that chocolates will add pounds to your waist. Yes, excess sugar is not good for you, but sugar-free products is even worse. It uses replacement sugars that are even more harmful.

Sit ups and Ab Machines
you've probably had the experience of staring at your belly fat with disgust and then dropping for some sit ups to "work it off". Sit ups and other abs machines that being sold in their millions are actually one of the most ineffective exercises if you want to burn belly fat. Yes, it seems "logical" but spot reducing fat around your belly with sit ups does not work.

Recommended Books

I don't like diet books, but these 2 are worth a read...

These are 2 really good books you have to read. Both are gimmick-free and written by real experts that you can trust. More than anything it will make you see that belly fat is more than just an "ugly" cosmetic issue. It's serious business!
