Thank you! The fires had taken so long to hit in any real way, that the photos were just a part of it..... it was so surreal. Thank you for the blessing.

5* and an Angel Blessing. I admire you for having the presence of mind to think of taking so many photographs!

Such a heart-wrenching lens, so well put together. We've been in a flood but never a fire and certainly nothing as far-reaching as this. I just can't imagine. Prayers to everyone involved in this year's fires as they continue to pick up the pieces.

Such a devastating tragedy, but what a beautiful appeal you have built. I love your donation modules - great idea.

Your lens, on an awful subject, is beautifully done. Your words and your pictures tell the story very nicely and should send out a warning to us all to be prepared. While we may not all have bushfires as a threat, there are different issues in different part of the world. Thanks for telling your story and for the reminder for us all to put things in order.

Oh, this just breaks my heart. I just can't imagine what you went through then and what people are going through now. You ability to tell this story truly makes it real and gives me a much better understanding of the situation. Thank you for sharing.

Susanna, the fires in Victoria were dreadful this year. My heart is breaking when I see the news reports. The drought situation has not made it any better either.... I still get worried when I see or smell bush smoke...

Oh Charly that was a bad fire! In the suburban streets. Awful, frightening!
From now on we can expect "Mega Fires' in Victoria and will have to rethink our plans of fighting them ourselves - from now on, we evacuate as soon as the smoke appears. Here in Melbourne the air is still smokey and gritty (Feb 17th) and I can see the smoke from the hills.

How terrifying! Thank you for telling your story and making the current fires even more real for us! I am so glad you and your family were safe, and that you took so many pictures to share here years later.

Oh my gosh, Charly--Wonderful lens but tragic situation.

Is it true that some parts of Australia only get 3 inches of rain a year--and if you get less than that, you are in a drought??

    High fived and faved.
