Neon Signs, An Attractive Form of Advertising

You want a sign to attract people's attention towards your business. Well if you are gonna do that, why not just for the full package and get yourself a neon sign. While a standard sign is effective to a degree, a business neon sign is just so much better. What are you gonna do at night, when your standard sign just can not be seen by anyone? A neon sign doesn't have that problem. A neon sign screams out: "Hey, here's my business and we are open!"

As Times Change, So Do The Signs

Neon signs add a little something extra that standard signs do not.

As times change, so do the signs that businesses use change. Neon signs are the latest sign technology, with many advantages over incandescent and florescent sign technology of the past. In fact, neon signs are safer and less expensive to purchase and operate than the older styles of sign.

Neon signs are semiconductor technology and use less power than incandescent bulbs. They are electronic components and can be placed on circuit boards by automated assembly equipment. Neon signs have a very long lifespan when compared to incandescent lights that must be replaced as they burn out. Neon signs don't give off heat as other light technologies do and the signs are safe to touch even when lit. Neon signs don't break the way that other bulbs do, eliminating hazards such as shattered glass or exposed high voltage components. With these advantages, these signs are appearing in the windows of business the world over. Like the bright displays of neon in the business districts of yesteryear, Neon signs are finding a place in commerce.

Small shopkeepers purchase off the shelf with displays that read "OPEN', "LOTTERY", "ATM", "GROCERIES", and more. These signs are easy to read and eye-catching. Motorists that drive by see the signs, read the information on them about the business inside, and are influenced to spend money when they stop to enter the business. Humorous quips, quotations, anecdotes, time, date, weather information can be designed to shine or flash, repeating the message for passing traffic twenty four hours a day and 365 days a year unattended. Inside, neon displays are also creating a marketing edge unlike other lighting and display technologies. The news, weather, information displays are used to enhance the customers experience.

Music videos on high resolution displays with high-fidelity speakers replace the monophonic programmed sound of the past. Customers may not experience time waiting or queuing in line as negative experience if the display is entertaining and of interest to the customer. The signs can display brand information. The customer may stop to watch an informational video or listen to a how-to demonstration related to the brand. The customer can be educated on uses of the products on display or inspired to try new products that may be unfamiliar to the customer. The customer might be directed to a product by an interactive display or access a store map or directory.

Custom neon signs may be purchased for more exotic and huge displays. These displays are suitable for institutions and large commercial facilities. They can communicate schedules, events, and be used in much the same way as mass produced systems but with additional size and visibility for large installations.

These solutions are more expensive than mass produced signs and return on investment must be considered on a case by case basis. Times continue to change and neon signs will continue to gain on older technologies. Either custom or mass-produced, these displays offer bright, safe, inexpensive displays compared to other sign systems. They offer unrivaled opportunities for business to sell to customers.
