Marketing Your Offline Business Online

So many people come to the internet expecting it to be road paved with gold. For many this has been the case but for most the only gold they found was fools gold.

So many of the internet gurus and marketing experts have become rich by preaching their get rich quick formula to those hungry for the fast track to success and internet stardom.

Unfortunately, what most don't realise when they read the sales pitch is these top marketers all work together, to promote to each others lists and selling all of their products.

When you have a number of people with lists of 10's of thousands and the staged pre-launches which lather people up into a frenzy, it is not difficult to generate a million dollars of sales in a day.

The sad reality is that it will take you a lot of time, effort, hard work and knowledge to be this successful online and create the number that they proudly display on the sales pages.

I know because I have been part of it for the last 3 years. Not at the top, I might add but at the bottom, soaking up all the sales spiels and promises of millions. All I had to do was part with $1,000 dollars and the internet workd would be my oyster.

Well 3 years later and I am doing ok, I have a numbero of different websites ranging from e-commerce sites selling physical products, a network of property rental sites, others selling software and information products as well as a site offering an appointment reminder and marketing service. One of the sites turned over £500,000 ($750,000) last year (2008) which is not too sad.

I have not used JV partners as I have not go involved in the 'how to do internet marketing' yet. Mostly because I was not qualified to do so.

I have learned from the many ebooks and courses that I have bought, most of my knowledge and success has come from a few really good, knowledgeable mentors and from doing my own in depth research and pure hard work.

Starting out on your own with no backup and support is going to take time.

The only way to make a sustainable inome online is to build quality content based websites offering quality products and services. Whether they be offline tangible products or online downloadable digital ebooks or courses.

The last thing to mention is that this is very difficult to do for nothing. It will cost you money to make money online. Whether as an affiliate using ppc or an individual selling your home made, top quality wicker baskets.

The cost of setting up an online business however, is a fraction of the cost of a conventional business and will generate far more profits too.
