it's so nice to get a card, post card or note in the mail
in fact when it happens it feels like a nice surprise
this is something you definitely want to do for all of your customers
which is why it's important when you "start' your business
to have their
full name
address
city
country
postal/zip code
phone number
email address (if they have one)
i find i get so many emails that i just glance really quickly at them
as an added bonus
if you make post cards add magnets on the back of them or pre order them for a good price
you can create a nice message on them and also put your business contact info on it
just your name, company name, phone number and email address will be suffice on this sort of gift.

as a child you have to promote yourself if you want to be an actor, musician or business person.. even an author has to work hard to promote herself too
so if you want to be a person in any of these careers i'm going to give you some advice.
start a blog (it's free on word press and blogger)
find a topic that your interested in
get yourself a digital camera
shoot little videos under 2 to 5 mins of stuff you like to talk about or do
then post it up on youtube
ask your parents for permission
guess what..
once you get subscribers and have your OWN content.. and get lots of hits.
youtube asks to be partners with you...
so it's best to set up the account in an adults name (have them over sea your work) until your at the right age to manage it yourselves.
it's an easy way to make some money for yourself in the future
and set up a following that can help your career in the "entertainment" industry down the road.

who knows if your a genius of sorts, maybe you can create a new app and sell it to them as a business idea ;)

An inspiring story - JK Rowling and Harry Potter how it all began.
July 11, 2011
If you believe in yourself and what you do, keep going at it until you reach your goal.
Here is an inspiring story of how JK Rowling's books Harry Potter got published.
Her manuscript was put into a slush pile from a Literary Agent and it fell into the garbage can.
her young daughter who was eight years old was sitting in her office and spotted the manuscript sitting in the garbage can.
She pulled it out, and read it.
The little girl loved it and begged for her mom to get it published...
and that's how harry potter was brought to life..
thanks to an author's imagination that captured millions of children, teens and adults.

"The Messenger"
In my 8 years of living on this planet,
it's been my experience that man
sure does make a lot of bad choices.
It's very scary to think about
what our world will be like when I grow up
if we don't all come together and make some major changes.
In my imagination,
I picture a messenger from heaven,
in the form of a baby in it's mothers belly,
coming to earth to deliver a message
that will change the hearts of man.
This messenger will make all the
hate and anger in man's heart go away
so we can all work together to save the world.

Green Tea and white Tea are used by the Chinese to balance the hot and the cold in the body.
I've been dealing with what they call "hot flashes"
It means your body temperature spikes, you get all sweaty and hot in seconds.
Just like you feel after running a race, you get to the finish line and stop and you break out into a sweat and pant for air.
It feels like that.
Or you have just walked outside after playing your video games in an airconditioned house and it's about 100 degrees outside and humid.
It hits you like a wall of heat, or by a fireplace the heat from the fire.
That is what women mean when they fan themselves and say - I hate hot flashes! ;)

KIDS WITH CAMERAS is an hour-long documentary that chronicles the challenges of seven Asperger Syndrome-afflicted children aged eleven to nineteen, on the road to self-discovery. As they engage in an intensive, week-long film camp taught by nationally acclaimed, award-winning educator Brad Koepenick, footage of this all-immersive, cin vrit week of activities is combined with revealing moments of the childrens private lives, and candid interviews with their families as they explore and explain their coping strategies. These brilliant artistss efforts of self-expression - films, songs, poems, and paintings - combine to paint a soulful picture of how encouraging and training their creativity might be a necessary step to connecting the exponentially increasing autistic population with the rest of the world. To anyone who's ever felt isolated or misunderstood, this is a testimony to the healing power of art.

Snap Caps - Bottle Cap Necklaces - Maddie Bradshaw 12 Year Old Millionaire
By Linda Randall - May 21, 2009
Imagine starting your own company at the age of 12 and within a year be a millionaire. Maddie Bradshaw is an inspiration to kids and adults alike. She made some magnets for her locker at school and now sells them in stores.Shes also created the bottle cap necklace, which is nice because it's interchangeable. Maddie and her sister who is only 9 years old, create their own designs and their mom helped them get the business going. She does seminars on how to start a business as a kid with only one idea. Congratulations Maddie, I can't wait till you write a book about your success. This is a wonderful idea for publishers!

First off we are working on a cap to benefit the kids for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We will donate all of our profits on this Snap Cap to Make-A-Wish Foundation, as well. Fresh Homemade Lemonade Recipe: How to Make Lemonade So Great that No One Stops On the First Glass
By Eren Mckay

Ingredients
1 Lemon
12 icecubes
1 and a 1/2 cup of Water
6 teaspoons of Sugar or 9 drops of sweetener (healthy please)
1st- Cut the lemon in half moons but leave the peal on. Take out the seeds.
2nd- Place 1/2 cup of the water with the lemon and beat it all in the blender.
The biggest secret is this: You can make your lemonade taste wonderfully if you beat the lemon with the skin in the blender: BUT only for 8 seconds.
That's it- if you beat it for more than 8 seconds it will become too bitter. If you don't beat it with the skin- it will come out bland. Sift the lemon juice.
3rd- Get the sifted lemon juice. Place 1 more cup of water the 12 ice cubes and the sugar or sweetener in the blender. The ice is a key to having it taste really great.
Special Tip If you don't put any water it becomes a smoothie. So if you ever want to make a lemon smoothie simply take away the water.

How Much Change Should I have for my Lemonade Stand?
Cash Box
For any business venture, its a good idea to have at least 50 dollars in cash. You want to have mostly small bills and change for your customers.
You should also have a safe with a key, so you can lock up the money while serving customers.
If you live in an area where there is a problem with theft, then it's best to wear a money pouch around your waist and have several little change purses for different types of coins and bills.
It's a good idea to have a notepad and a pen to mark down how many items you sold to your customers.
Put a marking then cross it out once you reach 5 of them IIIII use / or ------

Kids Fold Laundry - Ask For An Allowance

Help Mom and Dad Fold The Laundry
After folding the laundry, offer to put the clothes, towels and sheets away.
*For some children this is a chore, but usually parents can give you a few bucks for helping out, if they can't don't make them feel bad, just do it and chalk it up to experience.
Some day you will live in your own house and you'll be really good at folding laundry by then!
Kids Washing Dishes - Ask For An Allowance
Learn how to clean the dishes, rinse and dry them properly.
You can also take time to put things away as well.
Make sure the table is wiped clean after clearing off your dishes.
You will get good muscles by scrubbing those pots and pans!
** some parents cannot afford to pay you an allowance, it's okay don't make them feel bad. Be thankful that you have food on the table and your not paying the grocery bill!**
Hang Up The Laundry - Get Some Fresh Air - Ask For An Allowance

Enjoy hanging the wash outside on the laundry line.
Watch out for those birds, they like to leave a mark on clothes!
Some clothes will fade in the sun, it's better to hang them in a shady area, but never under a tree.
**Not all parents offer an allowance for hanging the laundry, do it because you love them and want to help make their day brighter**
Kids Sweep The Floor - Ask For An Allowance

Make sure you have a box of Kleenex nearby, especially if you suffer from allergies.
Watch out for the dust bunnies that tuck them selves between table legs and under furniture. You may have to move the kitchen table and chairs over a few inches to get all the dirt and crumbs up from the floor.
Sweeping gives the body a good work out. It will help your heart and develop some muscles in your arms, back and legs.
**Some parents cannot pay you an allowance. Be thankful that you don't have to sweep out a chimney**
Child Chimney Sweeping

Many years ago, young boys would be sent up to the roof to clean out the soot (black dirt) from the chimneys.
Some houses had more than 10 chimneys, which were from the fireplaces in the home.
They would be dirty and covered in soot from head to toe. It was hard to wash off and it had a terrible smell to it.
Kids Car Wash - $5 A Car

You can charge from $5 to $10 a car.
A wax could be $3 extra, they have to provide the supplies.
Watch "The Karate Kid" movie, and learn how to wax ON and wax OFF.
It helps with your hand eye co-ordination, motor skills and builds and tones the muscles in your arms.
The constant lunges and crouching will help build your abs, butt and leg muscles.
Dog Walking - Charge $5 - $10 a week- unless it's your own dog!

-Make sure you can handle the size of the dog, you don't want it walking you.
-Bring along at least 2 doggie bags to pick up the doggie droppings
-Go for a run in a park, but make sure that dogs are allowed
Kids Wash The Dog- Charge $5 Unless it's Your Own

Dogs are difficult to wash so be ready to get wet!
Remove their leash or harness first.
Make sure you don't get any soap in their eyes.
Never use your own shampoo, use specially made dog shampoo.
Towel dry the dog to avoid them from getting cold.
Kids Vacuum The House - Ask For An Allowance

- Make sure you pick up all the toys and any bits of garbage off the floor
-Be careful around a carpet that is unraveling, it can get caught in the beater bar and wreck the vacuum cleaner
-Learn the different settings, low to med is for short haired carpets, and high is for thick high piled carpets
Low Pile Carpet - Less than 1/2 an inch high

This carpet is a loop and it's best to use a floor setting instead of a beater bar. You would pick the lowest setting on the vacuum cleaner.
High Pile Carpet - Over 1/2 inch High

-use a high vacuum setting
-be careful there's no broken strings hanging around, this will wreck the vacuum if it gets caught in the roller/beater bar
-If you hear any loud noises or something strange, shut off the vacuum and have an adult check it, make sure it's unplugged!
Clean and Tidy The Garage - Discuss a fee for number of hours

-Make sure you know how they want their garage organized
-Suggest they buy storage shelving and containers to make your job easier
-If they plan to box everything, then have a big black magic marker on hand
-Label each box and have a certain section for tools, Christmas things and paint cans, lawn furniture, etc...

- SHOW KIDS THE MONEY
- Are you hoping you've got your own Bill Gates in the making in your home? As a parent you can probably tell pretty easily whether or not the entrepreneurial spirit is evident in your child. Some kids make it very obvious that the regular nine-to-five will not be a part of their future. For others, you might need to investigate a bit further to see.
- INTERNET BASED KIDS
- Welcome to Internet Based Kids! Do you have a child that has the entrepreneurial spirit? Are you a teen looking for ideas to make money? Do you already have a business idea and want to get started on your way to success?
- STRETCHER STORIES
- Think about the possibilities: fund raisers, flea markets, yard sales, eBay or friends. When I told my boys about the possibility of "selling" stickers, they told me that kids already do this after school! I guess kids trade or buy the ones that they want from each other instead of taking the chance of not getting the one that they want out of the vending machine. I've seen kids spend $5 trying to get that "special" sticker that they want!
