Podcasts are Audio or Video files that are encapsulated in an RSS/XML Feed. Users can easily subscribe to podcasts and listen to them in Google Reader, Google Homepage, Yahoo Home Pages, iTunes or any feed reader.

You do not need an iPod to listen to podcasts, but you can sync them to your ipod if you wish. Podcasts can be played on virtually any computer with the preloaded media players that are on most computers.

This is an excellent way for businesses to extend their brand and online presence. It also makes it easier to each people automatically with new content, increase sales, increase online visibility. Podcasts are being used effectively by companies such as IBM & Cisco as well as many small to mid-sized businesses. Podcasts can be on virtually any topic that you can imagine.
