What to bring in order to do the business

1. Make a written list of the essential hardware, cables, cell phone, projectors, software, archives, catalogues, price lists, promotional items, etc. you need at least 2 weeks before the trip.
2. Add items up to 3 or 4 days before packing.
3. Put all of the items on your list in one physical location 24 hours before leaving town.
4. Have all the business information in a backup location on-line or accessible in the company server

Formal or Semi-Formal, Business Casual, Outdoors or Work clothing, Travel clothing, Sleeping.

3. Think about each day of the trip and determine what you need to wear, you can use hotel laundry for trips over 1 week. This is not a fashion show, it's business.
4. Think about synthetic and synthetic/natural fabrics that don't wrinkle easy.
5. Everything should be able to mix and match, simple colors not too many patterns.
6. Before packing, lay out your complete outfits for each day, where can you eliminate items?
7. Always bring one extra shirt/blouse and a light jacket or sweater.

Don't forget the major hotels.
Write down all the passwords, account numbers, access codes, etc. in a location where you can easily find it, and use it as often as possible.
I cannot tell you how many times I have received free upgrades, fruit in the room, cancelled minor charges, and received special treatment just from being registered in a hotel or airline program.
