Aromatherapy for Stress Relief
Aromatherapy is one of the best solutions to treat stress and anxiety. The fact is; we all have stress in our day to day lives. The management of life, family and work can put an undue pressure on us. Many people are adopting traditional methods of healing to avoid stress. Aromatherapy is getting popular among masses to lessen anxiety and stress in their lives. This wonderful technique makes use of essential oils to boost the mood and enhance energy levels to fight stress.
Benefits of Essential Oils
The aroma of essential oils has a beneficial effect on our emotions and moods. The smells of the essential oils activate the limbic system that is associated with emotions and instincts. This is the basic idea that helps in the treatment of psychological problems with aromatherapy. Thus, essential oils are capable to excite the sense of smell and stimulate that part of the brain that is related to our emotions. Moreover, aromatherapy oils promote memories and feelings of love, relaxation and calmness.
Stress relieving oils
Lavender, neroli, jasmine, chamomile, sandalwood are some of the essential oils that are effective for stress related conditions. Remember, select the type of essential oil that provides you with a calming affect after inhalation. If you dislike a specific smell, then it will not be beneficial to use that particular oil.
How To Use Aromatherapy oils
Essential oils can be used in various ways. But, it is suggested essential oils never be taken orally.
* As a spray: You can spray essential oil in the room using a room spray. Fill the apparatus with water and few drops of oil. Avoid spraying on fabrics and furniture as it may leave stains.
* Inhalation: You can inhale essential oils for deeper relaxation. You can inhale the oil by vaporizing it. Fill the aromatherapy diffuser or vaporizer with water and few drops of essential oil. Place it on the heating element of the bulb or any other source of heat. Whenever the bulb is lit, it helps the oil to disperse through the room. You can also add few drops of aromatherapy oil to boiling water. The emitted vapors can be inhaled for quick relief from stress.
* Massage: Massage is a best way to combat stress and fight fatigue. It relaxes the body and provides relief from aching muscles and body pain.
* During bath: You may use essential oils during bathing. Just add few drops of oil to your bath tub and enjoy the refreshing and relaxing experience.
Never Take Essential Oils Internally
In other words; Never Swallow!
