Welcome to an amazing recipe for Golden Butter Tarts
If you've been looking for a no-fail recipe for delicious golden flavour butter tarts you've come to the right place. This recipe was given to me by a friend about 15 years ago, I'm not sure where she got it from but it is a fantastic recipe. My husband asks me to make these butter tarts every year, especially for Christmas. They are excellent to take to neighborhood get togethers or social events where you are asked to bring a holiday treat. I often double or triple this recipe and do a giant batch all at once. They have become a holiday favourite, I hope you'll give them a try!
Golden Butter Tarts
The Recipe for Golden Butter Tarts
Golden Butter TartsIngredients:
Prepared sweetened or unsweetened tart shells (either are good with this recipe)
1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup Golden flavoured Crisco Shortening
1 egg (slightly beaten)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup of dark raisins
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Move rack to bottom of oven.
Place prepared tart shells on cookie sheets. Combine all ingredients except raisins in large bowl. Mix well. Place 5 to 6 raisins in bottom of each prepared tart shell. Pour prepared syrup mixture over top of raisins to about 2/3 full. (I use a small measuring scoop to fill the tart shells) Bake on bottom shelf of oven for 12 - 15 minutes. Or until set, do not over bake. Cool on wire rack. Once cool move to a airtight container and keep in fridge. These will keep for a couple of weeks or more in fridge.
