Our local movie theater was selling their version of butter beer for a while, and it was far better than the stuff at Universal. Ironic, I suppose. But the collector cups are awesome! I was shocked to see how many had been thrown away. People paid good money for them and just tossed them out.
  • Jane Feb 26, 2012 @ 6:37 pm | delete
Not quite as thick as the butter beer at Universal. Good though.
  • jercow75 Feb 15, 2012 @ 11:36 pm | delete
We tried one and it was awful, but I'd love to find a good one. Great lens.
  • candidaabrahamson Feb 15, 2012 @ 5:05 pm | delete
Won't be making butterbeer, but will be making this comment: What a creative, innovative lens--no wonder it won the purple star. I love it.

Great lens. I have a lot of Harry Potter fans as friends so I am sharing this on Facebook. Even though I only live an hour or so from Orlando I've never been to the theme park there and have never had the chance to try Butterbeer so I'll have to test these recipes for myself. Thanks for the page..
  • huvalbd Sep 30, 2011 @ 6:21 am | delete
It hadn't occurred to me to try to make this, but I'll give it a go. It should be great fun, starting with the recipes you turned up--although I'll have to do a sugarfree version, and it looks like there's no way to make that taste quite right.
  • NevermoreShirts Sep 20, 2011 @ 2:32 pm | delete
Definitely going to have to try out a recipe or two - I still haven't made it over to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter myself...

Not heard of this before either, sounds good, but I fear, too high in calories for me at present, unless I have a glass when no one is looking!! Good idea for the lens!
  • susannaduffy Jul 29, 2010 @ 1:01 am | delete
I'm a little afraid to have butterbeer lying around, As you know, I have to keep drinks locked up from my Brownie (we've had troubles before) and sometimes the housework falls behind. Of course, I could drink it all myself.
  • sandyspider Jul 26, 2010 @ 8:17 pm | delete
Pour me a glass of butterbeer. Yes this will work fine in my castle.
  • aishu19 Jul 26, 2010 @ 7:22 pm | delete

  • Susan52 Jul 24, 2010 @ 6:15 pm | delete
I know it seems I live in a cave, but this is the first I've heard of butterbeer. Sounds interesting and reminds me of buttered rum lifesavers I used to love as a kid. I suspect I'll be sticking with the lifesavers, but if I run across a recipe, I'll let you know. Love the shirts!
