How Butterbees Came to Bee!

 

Based on our award winning children's book How Butterbees Came to Bee, illustrated by retired Disney artist David Michener, we, sisters Lana and Tania Bloch present Butterbee Buzz Play shops in schools, museums, botanical garedens and other venues. Butterbees are a combination of an industrious bee and magnificent butterfly. They share the gifts of both bees and butterflies. Butterbees are a metaphor for all the children of the world, often the result of the union of a mom and dad from diverse cultures, backgrounds religions or races. The children inherit the best of both worlds, gifts and talents from both the mom and dad and their own unique,god given talents. Butterbees help children to feel good about themselves by honoring their somilarities with other kids and celebrating and respecting their differences. A timely and timeless messge in todays world.

Tania and I are sisters and the authors of the Award Winning, self published children's book, "How Butterbees Came to Bee!" published by our business, Bee Unlimited Inc. which we founded in 1995 based on a dream Lana had about a Bee with the world in its wings. I love bees and Tania loves butterflies. We both love children. Our passion to help children feel good about themselves at an early age and our own life challenges inspired us to write the Butterbees story and develop Bizzy and Buzzy Butterbee Pluppettes( plush puppets). With the launch of the "Bee Movie"on Lana's birthday November 2nd next month, we feel compelled to share our "Bee" story and our grassrooots efforts to make a difference in the world.
