Decorate your Home or Office with Butterfly Posters and Prints

Butterflies are beautiful and fascinating creatures. They come in many different colors and shapes and are often the symbols for "new life" or "new beginnings". The butterflies that come from the tropical regions of the world are especially colorful and make great looking posters and prints.

I became interested in photographing butterflies after my retirement, when I started to volunteer at The Butterfly House in Chesterfield, Mo. In this lens you will find posters and prints designed from photographs I have taken of butterflies both at The Butterfly House and in my own backyard. I hope you enjoy my photographs.

Common Blue Morpho

There are 80 different species of morpho butterflies. Some common features include eye spots on the back of the butterflies and bright colors on the front. The butterfly below was photographed at The Butterfly House in Chesterfield, Mo. It is native to Costa Rica.

Achilles Morpho

The Achilles Morpho is another species of morpho butterflies. This one is native to Suriname on the northern coast of South America. The Achilles Morpho is often seen at The Butterfly House, where I volunteer.

Owl Butterfly

The owl butterflies are beautiful creatures that have an eye spot on the back of their wings. This helps them to fend off predators. Longwing Butterfly

Longwing or Heliconians butterflies are noted by the long narrow fore wings. They are brightly colored butterlies and we have several different kinds at The Butterfly House .

Paper Kite Butterfly

The Idea leuconoe butterfly is commonly called the "Paper Kite". It is from the same family of butterflies as the Monarch, that we often see in the USA. There are many Paper Kite butterflies in The Butterfly House in the St.Louis area. They often land on guests that are visiting.

Monarch Butterfly

In the summertime you can often see monarch butterflies in my yard. The migrate up from Mexico during the summer months. I plant a variety of flowers to attract these beautiful butterflies and I am often rewarded with several covering the plants on my side yard.

    I knew it! I started looking at these beautiful prints and though, these have to be mbgphoto's pictures. I clicked and discovered a Zazzle store I have never seen before. Just beautiful! Of course I joined the Zazzle fan club :)
