If anyone needs yet more evidence that schemes that pay users cash to watch ads, and then pay more for any other users that you get to sign up (AKA Pyramid Schemes) are nonsense, just see Chris Pirillo's twitter message, which I have helpfully posted above.

The service in question is called Bux.to. They pay users $0.01 to watch an advertisement for thirty seconds. They also pay $0.01 for every advertisement viewed by anyone that has signed up using your referral code. Sounds great, but there's one problem - users are complaining that they aren't getting paid, or are getting paid weeks and weeks after they should have been.

The reason? Bux.to is undoubtedly finding itself in cash flow trouble. Advertisers, I'm sure, are not jumping at the chance to get to users who value their time at $1.20/hour and are only looking at ads because they're paid to.

AGLOCO, another version of the scheme, went belly up last year. AGLOCO was created by the same team that founded AllAdvantage (also DeadPool) back in the late nineties. Basically, the model doesn't work, no matter how people try to spin it.

Pirillo is particularly embarrassed about Bux.to, which he pushed hard to users in January. They aren't paying him, and they won't contact him.

It's not often in a post that I get to explain a situation by saying both Caveat Emptor and Occam's razor. If something looks like it's a scam, it's probably a scam.

Bux.to is a paid-to-click site offering 1 cent per paid click, a $10 payout minimum and a 5 cent signup bonus. The site also offers referral earnings, and even gives members the chance to purchase referrals. The site notes that payments are made "within 30 business days" [Update 13 Jan 2008: Now 60 days for non-upgraded members], though the complaints which follow show this not to be the case.

The reason that Bux.to is on the boycott list is the non-payment of members. The complaints below detail how members who have reached the minimum payout amount are not being paid according to the site's own Terms of Service. Some of those members have had their accounts deleted. Support e-mails have not been properly responded to, members have not been paid, and so this program rightly belongs on the boycott list.

There are a number of other supporting reasons for this boycott. The Bux.to site has been plagued with accusations that their script was stolen from another site, AdBux. More importantly for members, the site appears to survive solely by selling "unreferred" members. For the "extremely low price" of $459.00 members can buy sets of 500 referrals in order to boost their earnings. Many have commented that the site seems more concerned with promoting the sale of unreferred members than actually providing paid clicks for members, or more importantly paying members. While this program is boycotted for the non-payment of members within their Terms, there are a number of other considerations which also might justify this boycott.

I have decided to try out Bux.to too see if it is a scam or if it is possible to make alittle money. I have signed up for a free account and I'll be using this lens to document the entire Bux.To experience, including all money made.

Bux.to is a newish paid-to-click program, similar in many ways to other PTC Sites the main difference is Bux.to reputation is as a late payer not a non payer like most. I've been trying to replace my income by making money online (last month i made $160 not much but it is a start) and I thought I would add the Bux.to program or at least give it a try.

Sign-up with Bux.to is free. and simple. You start out by signing up completely free. They don't send you any spam in your e-mail. Everyday you have to log in to your account and view the sponsored sites for 30 seconds, and they credit you with one cent for that. If you don't view the sites on one day they don't wait for you, you have to come back the next day and view fresh ones.

The concept is very simple you get paid 1 cent for each advert you read, plus you receive 1cent for everyone else who reads an advert that you referred to the program. Here's a small example.
Lets say you sign up and view 10 sites a day, that's 10 cents a day.
10 cents multiplied by 30 days is $3.
Lets say you get 10 of your friends to sign up and they each view 10 sites a day.
11 multiplied by 10 is $1.10 per day.
$1.10 multiplied by 30 days $33.
If you get 20 friends to join you could make over $60 a month

There are different ways to get referrals, from friends and family, web connections etc Buxto also sell there un referred clients back to there members so if you follow my link you are added to my referrals if you follow a straight Buxto link then Bux.to resell you to a member, this is good for people with little friends or online contacts and a way for them to earn more money. I might buy some eventually if the program pays out(we shall see)

I am not employed buy Bux.to nor am I influenced in a positive or a negative way about them I am just trying to see if it is a Genuine way to make money.
