In this lens, we will discuss whether Bux.to / Buxto is a scam. I hope to get various opinions that will help me and others on the Net make decisions about this site.
Bux.to /Buxto is a PTC site that started their beta launch on June 12, 2007.
Their layout was almost identical to another PTC site, Adbux. This caused concern to some people, but others were just happy to use something that is familiar.
They grew quickly because, each Ad click is 1 cent and you earn 100% of your referrals earnings.
This is on their Welcome page:

At Bux.to, you get paid to click on ads and visit websites. The process is easy! You simply click a link and view a website for 30 seconds to earn money. You can earn even more by referring friends. You'll get paid $0.01 for each website you personally view and $0.01 for each website your referrals view. Payment requests can be made every day and are processed through PayPal. The minimum payout is $10.00.
Earnings Example
» You click 10 ads per day = $0.10
» 20 referrals click 10 ads per day = $2.00
» Your daily earnings = $2.10
» Your weekly earnings = $14.70
» Your monthly earnings = $63.00
The above example is based only on 20 referrals and 10 daily clicks. Some days you will have more clicks available, some days you will have less. What if you had more referrals? What if there were more ads available?

I joined them, clicked everyday on all the ads available (usually about 4 to 8 ads). I managed to get 13 referrals of which a few are active. After about 2 months, I reached payout.
Then, the TOS changed: I was told that since I am not an upgraded member, I would need to wait for 30 business days to get my $10.01, provided I pass the audit. And so, I waited. And then, when I least espected it, they paid me on Oct 05 2007.
Does this mean that they do pay? I have checked with some forums and it seems that they do pay, but due to the long payout time, people find it difficult to wait and start calling it a scam.
Although their payout time is long, Bux.to is still one of the fastest growing PTC. I think that it is because their payment of 1 cent per click and 1 cent for each of your referrals' clicks means that your earnings can grow quite fast especially if you have some active referrals. I am now getting about 13 clicks per day. Upgraded members get at least 20 ads per day.

They have paid me again 30 Dec 2007 after more than 30 business days. So, I guess they may sometimes be late in payment but so far they have been paying.
However, the payout time has been changed to 60 business days for free members and 30 business days for upgraded members. They are now paying via AlertPay.

March 8 2008: Bux.to card is now only available to Premium members and no longer to Standard members as was originally announced. buxto forum
March 7 2008: They have just issued the Bux.to MasterCard which should help to speed up payments.
The people at the Bux.to forum are all excited about the Card, but I think that it would be wise to look at the fees.
Activation Fees: $9.95
Per Payment: $2.00
Monthly Fees: $3.00
and the minimum payout is $75.00
Also, if you have a pending payment then you would need for that to be paid before you can request the next payment.

March 6 2008: Payment and account security
For large payment requests, bux.to will do a history check to make sure that legitimate person are being paid. If there is no cross-reference or payee address recently changed payment will be marked as "Sent" but not released. They will then try to establish contact with the member to confirm the payee address.
Please do NOT use the same passwords on other sites or email at Bux. Make a new seperate password dedicated for Bux and Bux's forum.
Feb. 21, 2008: Phishing Alert from Bux.to
Please watch for fake emails from buxtomarketing@yahoo.es or any other that look similar. It will say something is wrong with your account/payment and ask for your Bux password. We will never ask you for your password. All official emails we send are from @bux.to so please disregard all other email domains. You are responsible for your own account. Do NOT disclose your email on public forums including Bux forum.
Feb 17, 2008: Bux.to has been removed from the scam list of PTCTalk.
The admin of PTCTalk says that altough bux.to may take longer to pay they have been paying and so do not belong on the scam list ptctalk-bux.to
Feb 1, 2008: On the Bux.to news - Payments will be processed as usual today thereafter via AlertPay or Bux.to card which can be used worldwide.
Jan 23 2008: On the Bux.to news - Tomorrow the 24th of January at 3.00 am GMT we are moving to our new servers as recently announced. We will try to keep the downtime as short as possible.
Jan. 23, 2008: On the Bux.to news - Seems that PayPal changed their policy in doing business with PTC websites. We are just checking on other payment solutions. Business continues as usual. We will keep you posted.
Jan 19 2008: Do not use autoclickers with bux.to. Just as we do not want to be cheated, let us not cheat others. You will also be banned when you are caught.

Jan 5 2008: The payout time has changed 30 business days for premium and 60 business days for standard members. I think that that is really a long time to wait to be paid.
Dec 30 2007: Bux.to did it again. Just when I thought that they have forgotten me, suddenly I got paid ;)
Dec 26 2007: I am still waiting for my payout. No Christmas present from them :(
Dec 12, 2007: Bux.to has been added the boycott list of gptboycott. I have also been waiting for my payout since Oct 30 and I think that the 30 working days are up. There are some people being paid at the forum and I hope that my turn will be soon.
Nov 12, 2007: Bux.to received a rating of 10 from Uronlinebiz. .
Oct 20, 2007: Requested payout. I think that I should receive this within the 30 working days. I will keep you all informed.
Oct 16, 2007: According to uronlinebiz, Bux.to do not have anymore late payouts and they have a new support site - www.buxtosupport.com
Oct 10, 2007: Bux.to have now reached payout up to Sept 9. For members who are suspended Bux.to have a special thread in their forum for them to make enquiries.
Oct 10, 2007: You can now access Bux.to using the normal domain. Does this mean that Bux.to has won the "war" against Adbux? I am just glad that things are back to normal so that we can do our clicking.
Oct 08, 2007: I just read an interesting article from uronlinebiz.com, that due to an all out "war" between Adbux and Bux.to, the Bux.to site was shutdown. However, you can still access the bux.to site from here.
Oct 05, 2007: Surprise! I received my payment from Bux.to. So, is it a scam or not?
Sept. 24, 2007: Message on their site which would upset a lot of premium members.
"Due to an extraordinary high amount of new members joining daily our payment queue is continually growing. Because of this we need to change the term to 30 business days for standard and premium members. Premium members are usually getting paid faster since payments are handled with priority."
23 Sept 2007: Today is the day I am suppose to get paid after waiting 30 days but I am still waiting ...
21 Sept 2007: I received this email from the bux.to's admin
"Against all rumors let me tell you Bux.to is doing excellent. More than 10,000 new members joining daily.
Unlike AdBux and many other PTC websites we pay our members! Check http://bux.to/proof_of_payments.php for more information. Delays are may causing due to using a new checking algorithm."

First time I waited for referrals I bought and Now I'm not even using bux.to anymore.
Not supporting or advertising it.

They don't tell you anything.! No mail nothing.
When you send a message, to ask to reopen your account, they tell you to wait until investigation is done! Now what in the hell are they investigating?

They will even close your account, you know why, because, when you keep asking afther your money, they consider it as SPAM!!!
So, i can tell you one thing: BUX.TO IS A BIG SCAM !
(you need a system that realy works, and that is not SCAM ? Go to Hit2Bux.com ! They Pay you in time ! Even big amounts ! )

I joined this during December, bought premium membership more or less straight away, also bought 100 refs soon after I bought 500 refs, then I went for a payout of around $580, Jan 15, it took considerably longer than 30 days to pay-out, I eventually recieved a bux.to card.
Then finally Payout $580 around mid April, I think it was the 18th, So I made a pay-out request (immediately) $1647.00.
And I purchased 100 more refs.
But I'd guess It'll be another 30+ day for payout.
But overall it is very good and does not appear to be a scam.
It is how-ever extremely Slow But it does pay out eventually...

Basically those who are unhappy have every right in the world to be unhappy. Bux shouldn't advertise what they can't deliver that being a 30-60 day payout wait time. If it is such a problem advise correctly "Payout time will vary and you could be expecting delays for up to 4 months" perhaps?

I can give you more than 10 reasons to tell users to keep
away from bux.to buxa.in .. and all other websites like those..
here's some of those reasons:
-BUX.TO says that they have more than 5 million users
FAKE!!
Check out how many clicks they have during ONE week.. for the same ad
-BUX.TO GOT MANY ADVERTISERS
FAKE!!
Check their links%u2026 they are using CLICKBANK links using their own "hoplink" "bux.to" with the hope that someone spends money so they can earn it
-BUX.TO pays their members
FAKE!!
They only pay to non-premium members for the first time.. and after those 60 days.. (90 actually) but after that.. every single member wants to buy premium membership.. and if you do the mats.. you will be spending more money on them.. that the money that you can receive from them.. and when you start earning some money.. they will cancel your account.. with NO REASON

I think we live in a "sit-com" society where if you don't get what you want in 30 minutes time then it must be a scam and you start bitchin' and whining.
I'm a member of Bux.to. I started out as a Standard Member and then upgraded to Premium Membership after a month or so. I made my first request for payment while still a Standard Member and I got it exactly 63 business days later (88 calendar days). I never opened any support tickets and I never emailed them asking where my loot was. I just kept clicking and buying referrals and one day my $16.00 appeared in my AlertPay account. I promptly spent it on more Bux.to referrals bringing my total up to 101.
Good things come to those who wait. My next payment will be for $272.00 and I should get it around 24 May 2008.

Don.t join bux.to. In my view in will become a scam in future. Have you ever join Studiotraffic in the past? You see what happen to Studiotraffic.

I think no one should use bux.to service u need to go in this site like allmost 2 weeks, u get 10 $ after 4 monts or dont get anything.I have used bux.to too but i stopt at 32 cent .
