24 is an American serial action/drama television series. 24 is broadcast in the semblance of real time, with each season depicting a 24-hour period in the life of Jack Bauer, who works with the United States government as it fights fictitious terrorist threats to the United States.

The first six seasons of the show were all based in Los Angeles and nearby California locations—both real and fictional. Occasionally other locations have been featured as well—most notably, Washington, D.C., where a portion of the fourth and sixth seasons took place. Departing from tradition, the seventh season is set primarily in Washington, D.C. and Season 8 is to take place in New York City for the first time ever. No decision has been made yet on whether the show will return for a ninth season.

After leading actor Kiefer Sutherland won a Golden Globe for his role in the first 10 episodes, the ratings of the show increased, leading FOX to order the second half of the season. A feature film based on the show is being planned.

Slated for a January 17, 2010 return, Season 8 is rumored to be the last of the highly successful Jack Bauer franchise. However, nothing is final or has been announced yet so there is a fine possibility of Fox ordering Season 9 for a 2011 release.Probably, depends if season 8 is good or not.

        Tony Almeida: Friend or Foe to Jack Bauer?

        We've all seen the good side to this guy; the first few seasons where he was one of the best characters on the show (my favorite in Season 1 and 2). When he came to Jack's aid in Season 4 I started watching 24 just for him, instead of Jack's awesome moves.
        However, last season Tony's motives have been pushed to the side, he is a changed man now. I still have this hope that he will turn out to be the good guy we all loved and have an ulterior motive for all his actions in Season 7, because although I understand his desire for revenge for his unborn son and Michelle, that doesn't justify him leaving Jack to die.
        Fingers crossed, hopefully he will play a somewhat big role next season. And not disappoint us again!

        Can Tony redeem himself for you? Or has he ventured WAY beyond the the line?
