Interested in 3D Digital Cameras?

3D is a technology that appears to be poised to go mainstream. Many TV manufacturers have rolled out 3D TVs and now 3D digital cameras are appearing as well. There are methods of allowing you to capture stereoscopic images that can be viewed as 3D images, but they take a bit of practice and some juggling of equipment to do. Now with 3D digital cameras, the task has been greatly simplified.

On this page you will learn a bit more about the 3D camera. You will find stereoscopic 3D digital cameras, cameras with 3D sweep panaroma mode, 3D lenses, and even some tips for getting 3D images without a 3D camera.

About 3D Digital Cameras

type=textToday's point and shoot 3D digital cameras either use 2 separate lenses to capture two images simultaneously or require the user to sweep as they take the photograph. The market for these 3D cameras is just beginning to develop so the number of options is somewhat limited. It's important to remember that these cameras will allow users to capture both 2D and 3D images.

As you shop for a 3D camera, you will want to keep in mind where and how you will be able to view your images in 3D. Some of these devices have an LCD screen that allows you to view your 3D images right on the camera. Some may provide an HDMI hookup that allows you to view 3D images on compatible 3D televisions. You may be able to view those images on a 3D photo frame or viewer and perhaps be able to print them in 3D.

You will also have to decide which type of 3D photography will meet you needs. Certainly having two lenses makes capturing 3D images a very simple task, but sweeping side to side is not that hard to master. Some cameras on this page offer stereoscopic lenses for 3D imaging, while others offer a 3D sweep panorama mode. However, you'll want to consider the camera and it's features as a whole to decide which is best for you. It needs to have the attributes you want in general; the resolution, screen size, lens, and other technologies.

If you are more interested in a DSLR than a typical point and shoot, there are even fewer options at the moment, although that could change quickly. The Loreo Lens-in-a-Cap can allow DSLR cameras to capture 3D images and of course there are some with the 3D sweep panorama feature.
