A Squidoo lens is an article that should be original writing of the publisher. An article is a way of expressing the publisher thoughts, knowledge, understanding, belief, and emotions on a particular subject.

An article write up can bring a publisher's feelings out on paper and allow them to express in words. People who feel they aren't good at expressing themselves could benefit from writing as it allows oneself to take all their thoughts and categorize them in sentences so that they make more sense.

The benefit to blogging about it and even publishing it on Squidoo is, you'll put more thought into it as others will see what you wrote and Squidoo allows self esteem from what you wrote as you review it and feel confident about what you wrote on. A bonus for me on Squidoo is the ability that not just Squidoo members can comment on a subject that you wrote, anyone online can view it and comment on it too. Yes, you can delete or block anyone that you do not want commenting on your lens but that is a rare thing you'll need to do.

For the most part, you're free to fly high as you write and become empowered with confidence and feel better about speaking to others about your thoughts, that it will come up of your mouth in sentences the way you thought it in your head.

But a Squidoo Lens is far from just a blog where you wrote on a particular subject, you're able to add a bzillion modules to it such as poll questions where readers can answer honestly without feeling persecuted on how they answered the poll because its anonymous (unless they decide to comment words as another choice to the poll). Quiz's are another anonymous module where the reader will not feel bad for missing the right question and therefore promoting the fun that is within the article. As we all know, we usually learn more when we make a mistake and quiz's help to teach your audience or readers about what the right answer is.

Other popular modules to add are YouTube video and larger photo's pertaining to your subject. Amazon, Zazzle, and CafePress are easy online stores that can sell a produce to your readers through a secure payment method and give a percentage of it to Squidoo and Squidoo gives to you as a joint relationship between the two of you. You get to pick you own items to sell on your lens so you can make your article completely your design.

This only scratches the surface to what Squidoo can do. Getting involved is the best way to learn. I've been wow'ed many times by great people that I would not have met if it were not for Squidoo. So, I praise Squidoo and those who are within the Squidoo Community and am proud to be one myself!
