Buy Books with Free Shipping

Best Place to Buy Books Online

There are many online bookstores to choose from, but shipping costs for certain countries can be a problem. Find out what is the cheapest place to buy books online and get free international delivery.

Take Amazon for instance. While it does offer free shipping for some countries (namely US, UK and Canada), the rest of us have to pay per-order and per-item delivery costs, which can really add up if you order several inexpensive ~$10 books. There's no denying Amazon has great prices, but their shipping charges really ruin the deal for me.

From my experience, the best place to buy books online is BookDepository because they offer free international shipping, no matter which country you're from! You can read my personal review of this bookstore below. If you're looking to buy books with free shipping, I suggest giving them a try.

About The Book Depository Online Bookstore

Cheap books, free shipping and PayPal support!

Amazon charges $3.99 per item and $3.99 per shipment for deliveries to my country, so I had to look for an alternative. Luckily I found BookDepository, which is the cheapest place to buy books online for me thanks to their free international shipping. I've written down some important information about this online bookstore below.

  • Book prices: from my experience, the prices offered by BD and Amazon are pretty similar (which makes BD a winner, since they ship free of charge). Even given a slightly higher price of books free shipping more than makes up for it.

  • Supported countries: do take a look at this list before you order - even though BD sends books to most countries for free, that does not include the whole world.

  • PayPal support: you can pay for your BookDepository order using PayPal, which is both more convenient and secure than using a credit card.

  • Package delivery: every book you order will arrive in a separate package (standard airmail bubble envelope). They will not necessarily reach you at the same time.

  • Currency selection: BD is an international bookstore, so you can select the currency that you want to use for shopping with them (euro, pounds and US / CA / AU dollars).

  • Location: the company is based in the UK. Delivery to European countries will likely be much faster than delivery to the United States.

As you can see, it's a really good store to use if you want to buy books with free shipping. Visit my full Book Depository review for more information about this company.

I tend to wait until I have a bunch of items from Amazon, and then buy them all at once to avoid the shipping charges. That said, if you live in the Toronto area, I'd highly recommend the Batner Bookstore. Apart from being one of the few remaining independent stores, they've read everything on the shelf and they make fantastic recommendations.
