Guy Fawkes
Who was Guy Fawkes? Why has Guy Fawkes come to symbolize among other things the Occupy Wall Street movement? What is the connection to the movie V for Vendetta? Guido aka Guy was caught trying to blow up the parliament buildings in the early 17th century with a large number of gun powder kegs. He and his accomplices were all found guilty of treason and hung.
Guy's fame has made a resurgence with the release of the movie V for Vendetta. If you have not seen the movie I would recommend it highly. The story is set sometime in the future and the government has become very "Orwellian" in nature. We may want to go back and read a couple of books that were required reading in high school. A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and 1984 by George Orwell.
