Harry, Hermione and Ron are on their own in this first installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows DVD. They have to rely on each other, rather than the assorted adults that have helped and guided them in so many ways throughout the Harry Potter series of movies. It makes it a slightly different movie. If you did not catch it at the cinema, then I am sure you are going to enjoy it, just remember it is only the first half of the book. There has been some criticism of this, which in some ways I agree with. It does seem that they have stretched it a little bit, and the cynic in me thinks it is so that we will have to go to the cinema twice, and also buy two Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows dvds. But you may not agree.

Now first off this is definitely a more grown up movie. This has been my only real criticism of the Harry Potter books, what starts off as a fun light hearted story of Wizards and muggles, has slowly got darker and darker as they have gone on. Now if you started reading, and watching Harry Potter when they first came out, you would have grown up with them. But if you have a younger child who has been lucky enough to read, and watch them one after another, this may be a bit old for them. It may be worth buying Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and watching yourself first, then thinking whether it is suitable for your child. I think that this is a good course of action, because some children are more mature than others.

As Harry Potter films go, this is one of the better ones. The acting is really good, the characters, and actors have come of come of age, I think. It is a good adaptation of the book so there will not be too much that you will feel has been missed out. It is visually one of the best films, with great locations, and this really gives the film a great atmosphere. It starts to draw every thing together for, what is sure to be an action packed climax.

If you have liked all the previous Harry Potter movies, then this is a must see, just so you can see the whole thing through to it's, nearly, climax. I still probably prefer reading the books, but for those of you who like to see these characters bought to life, you should enjoy it.

You know when they were just kids and life was more about Quidditch and getting your spells right. It is quite fun to look back and see just how much the characters, and the actors who play them have changed.

HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE - Who can forget the moment that Harry found out he was a Wizard. I especially remember all those letters, trying to reach him to tell him he was going to Hogwarts. Really good fun, and probably one of my favorites out of them all.

HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE - Harry must overcome a deadly dragon, fierce water demons and an enchanted maze, if he is to survive. But in the end he still finds himself in real danger when he comes face to face with He Who Must Not Be Named.

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX - This is when the story starts to see Harry and his friends grow up a bit and see the real danger. Harry knows that Lord Voldemort has returned, but no one wants to believe him, and they see Harry as an attention seeker. So it leaves Harry to secretly train his friends for the wizarding war that that he knows is coming.

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE - Well Lord Voldemort is well and truly back, and as he tightens his grip on both Muggle and wizarding worlds, it leaves Harry and Dumbledore work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses. We also learn more about the life of He Who Shall Not Be Named.

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1- Join Harry and his friends as they try to find the horcruxes and so defeat Voldemort.

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2- Join all your favourite characters as they finally do battle between good and evil, and who servives.

Once you have seen this movie, that is to be released in April You will not have long to wait until the last installment hits the big screen. It is going to be some thing to look forward to in the summer. It will be a shame, in some ways to say good bye to the Harry Potter movies, just as it was hard to finish the Harry Potter books. These characters have become a bit like friends really, and I hope that they do not mess with the ending of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows too much.
