The Pros and Cons of Monopoly Live
While the technology behind Monopoly Live is cutting edge, there's something to be said for the old fashioned game. Here's a look at the pros and cons of getting Monopoly Live vs traditional Monopoly.Pros:
- The computer will throw random events at you. For example, a desired property could suddenly go on auction. A stock rally could happen. There could be a horse race. This helps keep the game interesting.
- The technology is neat. You merely have to wave your hand, and the computer acts for you. Just cupping your hand over your token rolls the die for you.
- You do have to move your own pieces, but the computer makes sure you move the right number of spots. This helps kids double check their counting.
- You don't have to do any math to play the game, allowing younger kids to play.
- No one can cheat
Cons
- Kids don't have to do math to play the game. They don't have to add up different bills to pay. This can detract from learning math. However, it is more inline with today's credit card culture.
- No one can cheat. :)

Pauli says:
Why cant I buy Monopoly Live ANYWHERE! It is only available in Austrialia and none of the stores there will ship it here?
Regular Monopoly
Jan Dale says:
Mixed feelings here. I like the idea of using technology for its pop and dazzle and to help avert cheating. However, I'd like to be able to disable or enable the banking feature. It could be used only to check for accuracy. Also, the regular game is more affordable, making it more accessable to disadvantaged families.
I say keep the math in there!
