Nikon D800 Information

Nikon D800 comes in a Sensor size of 36.0 x 23.9mm full frame FX format with CMOS sensor type and 16.2 mega pixels of sensor resolution for detailed images for bigger prints. The ISO sensitivity ranges from ISO 200 to ISO 12800 and is extendable up to 102400. Nikon D800 has a continuous burst speed of 6fps (8fps in DX mode) with Multi-CAM 3500FX 51-point AF focus system. Its video mode is available in Full HD 1920x1080p (24, 25, 30, 50, 60fps) with stereo sound & AF LCD length is 3-inch (921k dots) VGA LCD.

Whereas Nikon D700 comes in a sensor size: 36 x 24 mm (8.64 cm²) with CMOS sensor type like Nikon D800. With a 12.9 mega pixels of sensor resolution, its ISO Sensitivity is ISO 200 - 6400 in 1, 1/2 or 1/3 EV steps (100 - 25600 with boost). Nikon D700 has a focus system of Nikon Multi-CAM3500 FX and operates with a continuous shooting mode of 5 fps @ 12 mp, 8 fps @ 12 mp (with battery pack). It has VGA LCD (922k dots) and with no video mode.

D700 is considered as one of the best DSLR cameras ever released. It featured low noise at quite high ISO levels and wider angle coverage. Much is being said about the Nikon D800 release. It is supposed to be a perfect full frame digital SLR camera. It is designed for a simple layman to an advanced level user and high-end photographers. It is being assumed that Nikon D800 takes over some traits and characteristics of D3X.

D700 has the same image processing engine as the D3 and shares 12.1MP full frame ('FX') sensor. The comparison can be had with different shutters; 150,000 exposures on D700 and 300,000 on the D3), different viewfinder prism with a coverage of 95% and a slower burst rate. A self-cleaning sensor and in built flash like things lures the buyers most.

The D800 is for full fledged pro and enthusiast photographers, a physically built up tank type feel and look from Nikon. The price ranging around $2999 seems to be a viable option for many buyers or for semi-pro.
