The decision to buy a new car is one that most people take very seriously.
New cars often require a significant investment of not only money, but time as well, as that most people keep their cars for a number of years. Because of the importance of making the right decision when buying a car, people often employ a variety of techniques to help them decide on which vehicle to purchase. Despite the effectiveness of these techniques, however, few, if any, will likely contain the advantages inherent in a Mind Mapping software tool. This advantage stems from the spatial and highly intuitive format with which Mind Maps are constructed; with Mind Maps, users can literally "map out" their thinking around a particular subject in a way that follows one's natural thinking process. In addition, Mind Maps allow users to add colors and images that they associate with the information found in the map to make this information more conceptual and easier to process. As a result, those looking to buy a new car can organize everything they need to know about their purchase in one creative and highly organized diagram, making the decision of what car to buy much easier.

What is Mind Mapping Software?
Mind Mapping software is any software that is used to create diagrams, pictures, and other graphic visuals in order to show the relationship between ideas or other types of information. With Mind Maps, the key concept or main idea of the information being presented is represented by a central image, located in the center of the map. Any themes surrounding the main idea are shown on "branches" that are attached to the central image, with subsequent themes of less importance attached by "child branches" or "twigs". The resulting diagram is a "map" of the ideas and information shown in a spatial, rather than linear, format. Moreover, along with the ideas shown on the map are images, visual graphics, and colors that the constructor of the "map" associates with each of the themes and ideas. Mapping out information in this manner is widely believed to allow the brain to process the information in way that is more consistent with its natural functioning.

Making a Car Purchase Decision Using a Mind Map
Imagine, as an example, a couple that is trying to decide which car to purchase as their next vehicle. Having spent countless hours leafing through car ads depicting a variety of car options, they still do not know which option to choose. Hoping to make the decision a little easier, they decide to organize their thinking around a new car using a Mind Map. They begin their map by placing a visual representing their decision to buy new car in the map's center. Next, they list all the different car options they are considering buying on "branches" that they attach to the central image. On "child branches", the couple lists car prices and any advantages or disadvantages of purchasing each vehicle. Throughout the Mind Map, the couple also adds any images or colors they associate with each car to make their map more intuitive. When they have completed their map, it looks similar to the attached Mind Map diagram.

Finalizing Their Decision and Buying the Car
With their options, including pricing and any pros and cons, clearly "mapped out" in front of them, the couple has no trouble deciding on what car to buy. Listing these options spatially, versus linearly, as well as in a visually associative format, made internalizing their car options extremely simple. The couple was able to visually compare the options side-by-side, and pick the one that worked best for them, something they would have been unable to do had they used a traditional listing approach. The couple was, thus, able to buy the car they wanted, confident that they had made the right choice -- a choice that was made easier thanks to the Mind Mapping software tool.

How your brain thinks
Our brains like thinking in pictures. The smooth curves and colorful pictures that are created when MindMapping create powerful images for your brain to remember.
We have two halves to our brains which think in different ways. The left half thinks linearly following direct linkages to related ideas. Our right brain likes to see the whole picture with colors and flow.
