Buying this one or any other smartphone is not an easy or immediate decision.
Having all the cellphone developers throwing a bunch of new smartphone models every couple of months in the market, each one claiming to have the best hardware to date, the clearest and smoothest to use touchscreen, and overall being the best thing since sliced bread, doesn't make it easier for us users to distinguish which of these phones are actually the best for us to fulfill our particular needs.
Also, considering that the iPhone 4 is perceived as kind of the "holy grail" of smartphones, plenty of users decide to just get this gadget (in spite of its price), and stop bothering looking for information, specs and reviews on other phones.
Yes, the iPhone is a great smartphone for a reason; however, as mentioned above, there are plenty of other models out there from other companies that a lot of people just plain overlook. It's true that most of these phones offer similar (and sometimes inferior) hardware capabilities than Apple's flagship cellphone, and even their graphical interfaces are almost identical to that of the iPhone; however, a good bunch of these phones have built in special functionalities that the iPhone doesn't currently have, and that would be really attractive for certain groups of users looking for these special functions in their phones.

Launched on June of 2010 in 100 different countries, and having selling more than 10 million units worldwide to date, this cool android-based smartphone implements a wide array of powerful and even innovative features and functions that have attracted both experienced smartphones users and newbies alike.
One of its most prominent features, which is currently lacking in the iPhone 4, is the implementation of a new texting technology called Swype, which allows you to insert text on the phone not by hitting each key on the virtual keyboard, one at a time, but by literally swiping your finger from one key to the other. Once you get used to it, you can enter text up to 1.5 times faster than usual!!

Well, the Samsung Galaxy S I9000 sure has a LOT of great features, but how exactly is it different to its rival, the iPhone 4?
First off, their designs and external materials are different. The iPhone 4 uses a hard metal case, while the Galaxy's is plastic. This makes Samsung's phone to be more scratch prone, but it also makes it less vulnerable to dropping. Also, the Galaxy S is lighter and overall more comfortable to carry and hold.
Both phones have an outstanding display; the iPhone's 3.5" Retina display is as sharp and colorful as the Samsung Galaxy's 4" SuperAmoled display. Both screens are just a pleasure to the eye, and also are unmatched in responsiveness to touch and multi-touch commands. However, given the size of the Galaxy's screen, it is more suited for certain uses, like watching full movies on phone.
A crucial aspect that differentiates these devices is how you transfer media from your computer to them. One of the highest criticism of the iPhone and iPod devices is that the only way to transfer music and videos from your computer to them is through the use of iTunes. Aside from the slow performance this software usually has, it "locks" your device from working in another computer. If you connect your iPhone to the iTunes of a friend's computer, it will override YOUR music library with your friend's library, along with any video, app, etc.
Also, a functionality the iPhone doesn't provide by default is an easy to use "USB mode", where you connect your phone to ANY computer (not only yours) and transfer files between both with ease. The only way to enable this kind of mode in your iPhone is through "Jailbreaking", which is the NON-risk free process of hacking your device in order to "free" it form Apple's restrictions.

You can easily transfer music, videos, pdf files, images and the like from any computer from your phone just like you would with an USB memory. Even when the Galaxy S can be "synced" using a special iTunes like piece of software named Kies, many recommend not to use it, as it is kind of buggy.
