Soilsaver Classic Composter

After reading all the composting bins reviews

The Soilsaver Classic Composter is a one of just a few cheap composting bins. The Soilsaver is great if you have time and space to forget about turning and cold compost instead. Turning is difficult without emptying the composting bin then refilling it. Lots of reviewers have 3 or 4 of these in their yards and often use them for bulky items like composting leaves.

The Soilsaver also works for small households that make little waste. If the composting can occur before the the composting bin is filled, it will just keep sinking down as new matter is added. When filled fast and overloaded with composting leaves, and bulky garden organics, the composting bin can bulge and break.

The Soilsaver makes lots of compost for the price and they make great cheap composting bins. If you don't want to do any physical labor to speed up composting, you have to give it time. If you have back problems, you may want a rotating composting bins type.

* Requires simple assembly

* 100% recycled material including assembly tools
* Compost possible in 6 to 8 weeks

Compostumbler 08001 Back Porch 5-cubic-foot Heavy-duty Poly Compost Bin

After reading all the composting bins reviews

For light-use, smaller households that require a mobile unit to take around the garden this is a good option. Maybe better for seniors once assembled. The ease of filling, moving and turning will be a main attraction.

Avoid using the ComposTumbler with lots of heavy compost like bulky garden waste and composting leaves. The composting bin is very lightweight, with reports of broken hardware hinges and knobs, bent metal hardware and torn plastic under more strenuous use.

Features
* Aerator/drainage at the bottom
* 37"x31"x26", 41 pounds, 37 gallon capacity
* Lightweight unit that stands on a frame with 6" wheels

Tumbleweed 200003 58-Gallon Rotating Compost Bin, Green

After reading all the composting bins reviews

The Tumbleweed is easy to assemble and has easy access for adding and removing compost materials. It is easy to tumble, when near empty. Composting unit is considered attractive and design simple enough there are few small parts to break. Composting is fast and effective in warm temperatures.

The tumbleweed composter can be difficult difficult to turn if material is wet as there are no handles and the design is top heavy. The compost doesn't mix well and sometimes needs to be broken up by hand. The unit no good at sub zero temperatures. The plastic becomes brittle with the compost weight in it, compost also freezes and warranty doesn't cover damage or use in sub-zero temperatures. The general feeling item is overpriced.

Features
* 25" x 23" x 25", 25 pounds, 58 gallon capacity
* easy to assemble sturdy rust proof stand.
* stainless steel central rod aerates compost when it tumbles
* ends have 4 vents for aerating and draining compost
* fast compost as soon as 3 weeks
* neat, compact design
* UV protected, dark green recycled plastic
* dual-end lids so easy to add material either end
